Mahindra BE 6

The BE 6’s coupe-SUV design looks rather sharp, and the flared arches give it a beefier stance. With its sharp and edgy design, the BE 6 looks very close to its concept version. 

It gets C-shaped LED headlights which add to the futuristic look and feel, and there is also an air duct between the lights, which aids in aerodynamic efficiency. 

The BE 6 is longer and wider, but not taller than the Curvv.ev, and that is despite being shod on 19-inch aero alloy wheels, and bearing a ground clearance of 200mm. 

The tail-lights also get a rather sleek, C-shaped treatment, there is a diffuser treatment for added sportiness, and overall the sharply-raked roofline towards the rear might hamper visibility.

There is a new, two-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, with an illuminated BE logo on a gloss-finished surface. 

It gets a 12.3-inch blended screen setup for the infotainment and the instrument cluster, and the split treatment at the front, along with the edgy lighting mimics the feeling of an airplane cockpit in the driver’s seat. 

The BE 6 is the first car in its segment to come with an augmented-reality head-up display unit. 

It gets a massive panoramic sunroof with integrated lighting patterns and multiple colours to choose from.

The BE 6 comes with screens mounted on the seatbacks, which allow you to plug any device and consume your desired form of content while on the move. 

The 12.3-inch infotainment screen runs on an all-new MAIA software, and it comes with as many as 69 apps, 30 of which are pre-installed.

Some other features on the BE 6 include a level-2 ADAS suite, automatic parking, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos surround sound, 5G connectivity with WiFi, a 360-degree camera, three drive modes and more.

The BE 6 can be had in either with either a 59kWh battery pack, or a 79kWh unit. It is also powered by a single electric motor on the rear axle, effectively making it a rear-wheel drive car. 

The 59kWh variant produces 228bhp and 380Nm of torque, while the 79kWh variant puts out 277bhp and 380Nm. Mahindra claims a 0-100kmph time of 6.7 seconds for the latter variant. 

The 59kWh variant claims to cover ‘over 400km’ on a single charge, while the larger, 79kWh battery pack gets an MIDC-claimed range of 656km. A 20 to 80% charge in just 20 minutes is possible via a 175kW DC fast charger.
