Hyundais Flagship Brand Genesis Reveals New G90 In South Korea

Genesis is the luxurious hand of Hyundai that is ready to introduce its first sedan. The company has officially revealed the interior, exterior and specifications of the sedan and it will be available in two variants, the regular one and a Long Wheel Base (LWB) one as well. The LWB model will offer an electric supercharger combined with a 3.5-litre T-GDI engine.

The second-generation Genesis G90 looks like a premium sedan that features dual-line LED headlamps, shield-shaped grille design, and a clamshell bonnet design that makes the sedan look sleeker. G90 introduced a new bolder direction for the luxurious segment. This latest generation G90 comes with advanced assistance features for sheer driving pleasure along with a variety of creature comforts for the passengers as well.

Lets take a look at the dimensions of the car for better understanding the size of the sedan. The LWB variant is 5465 mm in length, 1930 mm wide and 1490 mm in height with a wheelbase of 3370 mm that is longer with a longer wheelbase of 190 mm as compared to the regular one. 

It is obvious that the sedan is offering a longer wheelbase that means it has a spacious cabin. It comes with premium features like metal and wooden accents with forged carbon surfaces, quilted leather finish, LED ambient lighting, an eight-inch touchscreen device at the UV light sterilized armrest box, 10.2-inch rear infotainment touchscreen, antibacterial Silver Zinc Zeolite interior coating, and various other premium features. 

Other common features that will be available with both the variants are air purifier, set of 23-speakers Bang and Olufsen audio system, three built-in aromas like My Favourite Place, The Great Outdoors, and The Driver's Awakening, four-mode mood setter, mood lamps, seats with massager, electronic curtains, and several other features.

For superior comfort, the seats are known as ergo relaxing that offers 10 air cells on the back of the seat with two on the cushion as well that permits for four types of options available for massage inside the cabin. When the driver is at the speed of 130 km/hr or is driving at Sports mode, the side bolsters of the seat will automatically inflate. It also features predictive air suspension that helps in increasing the height of the car by 10 mm. For underbody protection of the car, the front wheels elevate themselves when driving on a slope. 

When required the sedan automatically lifts up the rear and front axles by not less than 25 mm. Inside the cabin, the sedan also features a Heads-Up-Display (HUD), remote controllable parking, boise cancellation, digital key, hands-on detection, rear-wheel steering, fingerprint authentication, OTR update support, and semi-autonomous driving functions.

Genesis G90 will be powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 T-GDI engine (in LWB it will also offer an electric supercharger) that is capable of producing 375bhp of maximum power and 530 Nm of peak torque. The sedan will come mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that will transfer the power to the rear axle as well or can be said as a four-wheel drive. The luxurious sedan will be launched in South Korea first followed by other global markets.
