Nissan India Ramps Up Production For Magnite; Crosses 10K Mark

Nissan Magnite without a doubt is the biggest hit for the carmaker in India. The results are such that the bookings for the same have crossed half a lakh mark and it has already found 10,000 happy customers. The sub-4-metre compact SUV is priced from Rs 5.59 lakh and fetches till Rs 9.90 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Before the launch of Renault Kiger, it was the Magnite which was the cheapest compact SUV in the segment. Interestingly, Nissan India has claimed that most bookings are for the top-spec XV and XV Premium variants. Of course, these two variants offer top of the line features and does not cost as much as the rivals.

The features include a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both the connected features offer wireless projection. You also get a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, air purifier, cruise control, push-button start/stop, voice command and others.

Safety features on the Magnite include dual airbags, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, hill-hold control, brake assist, keyless entry and several other features which makes it safer car. Nissan Magnite has scored 4-stars on the Latin NCAP crash test ground.

Powering the Nissan Magnite are two engine options - a 1.0L naturally aspirated, three-cylinder unit and a more powerful 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. The former delivers 71 bhp with 96 Nm of peak torque and the turbo petrol generates 99 bhp with 160 Nm of peak torque. Both the engine gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard the turbo petrol also gets an optional CVT. The CVT generates 150 Nm of peak torque. The power figures remain the same.

The Magnite is Nissan's first compact SUV and is taking the market by storm by its style, features and price. It is a power-packed product for the Japanese carmaker. It rivals Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Ford Ecosport and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
