Skoda has unveiled the 'Scoutline' variant of the Kamiq which is the smallest SUV from Skoda' stable. As it is the 'Scoutline' and not 'Scout', it doesn't get any mechanical changes but some visual additions like body cladding and different interiors are offered. Skoda Kamiq Scoutline is the first car under Scoutline segregation from the Czech carmaker. But the question is, can we also expect Vision IN with Scoutline variant as well? We shall find out!

First, let's walk through the Kamiq Scoutline. The Scoutline trim gets matt black cladding all around, silver inserts on the ORVMs, front grille and bumpers; 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels and full LED taillights. Both the front and rear bumpers get faux silver-finished skid plates and the front fenders also get 'Scoutline' badging. The launch of the Skoda Kamiq Scoutline is scheduled in July 2020 in the global markets.

Moving to the interiors, the Scoutline gets breathable ThermoFlux fabric and Suedia microfiber upholstery for the seats. Rest of the interior is all black with silver and wooden inserts. Some highlights include a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, digital driver's display, freestanding touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple Car Play; automatic AC and metal-finished foot pedals.

Skoda Kamiq Scoutline comes powered by an array of engines including three petrol, one diesel and one CNG. The one which will be plonked in the Vision IN is 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Skoda may also give a CNG option with the Vision IN but for now, only the 1.5-litre petrol is confirmed. Some rumours also suggest that the Vision IN can be called as Skoda Kliq in its production form. Skoda Vision IN will hit production in year 2021.

Unlike the Kamiq, the Vision IN will sit on the MQB-AO IN platform which has been designed by keeping the Indian market in mind. Volkswagen will also use the same platform and engine in its Taigun which is also a Creta-rivaling SUV. The Vision IN concept is very robust and dramatic, featuring a big grille, aluminium skid plates and thick body cladding all around. As the Vision IN is very macho and rugged, there are fewer chances of the launch of the Scoutline trim in the Indian market but that doesn't mean Skoda shouldn't.

If we retrospect, Kia showcased the X-line incarnation of the Seltos at the Auto Expo. Despite having no confirmation on the X-line' launch, Skoda can give 'Scoutline' a shot to increase the popularity of the Vision IN SUV in the customer' eyes. Skoda launched the Kodiaq Scout in the Indian market last year which now has been discontinued owing to the effect of BS6 emission norms.
