Tata Motors is ranking good on the sales chart of Indian car sales. The best-sellers are the Tiago, Altroz, Nexon and the recently updated Harrier. But if we talk about the EV segment, Tata Motors stands on the top with the Tata Nexon EV. We reported earlier that the Nexon EV is the best selling car of the EV space in India. Now, Tata officially confirms that and also rolls out 1000th Nexon EV from its Pune manufacturing facility.
The electric crossover niche which was stared with the Kona EV now has three contenders - Kona EV, MG ZS EV and the Nexon EV. The latter is the best seller as it offers affordability, features and adequate range. Tata Nexon EV holds a commendable 62% of the Indian EV market share. Within six months from its launch, Tata Nexon EV achieved this milestone. It is really respectable after taking the infrastructure and awareness in the Indian market towards future mobility.

The numbers are the results of various inputs made by Tata. Tata launched the "uniEVerse" platform to provide an overall experience to the buyer including retail experience, charging solutions and easy finance. To reinforce customer's belief, Tata also launched subscription plans for Nexon EV which helped to popularise it among the youth.
If we talk about facts and figures of the Nexon EV, it comes with a 30.2 kWh battery pack powering a front-mounted electric motor producing 129 PS and 245 Nm of torque. The performance from the powertrain is blistering and it responds to the minutest of throttle inputs. The 9.9 second 0-100 km/h time justifies the OH to WOAH experience. The range of the Nexon EV is 312 km and it is offered on a great price - 13.99 lakh to 15.99 lakh ex-showroom.

The FAME-II deductions and new EV specific policies will make it even more affordable. The Tata Nexon EV truly deserves the 1000th production milestone and we expect such innovative products not from just Tata, but from all other carmakers as well. Although the Nexon EV doesn't have any direct rivals, buyers ofter stumble at the Kona EV and MG ZS EV before locking the deal with Nexon EV.
