2021 Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Hybrid launched in India at INR 76,830

Yamaha Motor India recently launched the Ray ZR 125 Hybrid. The new model is claimed to be 16% more fuel-efficient than before. It also offers new color schemes. The base trim is priced at Rs 76,830 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the top trim is priced at Rs 83,830 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The newly launched model of Yamaha Ray is also equipped with the same Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system that is installed in the Fascino hybrid. It also enables power assist for three seconds while accelerating from a stop along with aiding in auto engine start/stop.

The scooter rivals 125 cc class scooters such as the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the TVS Ntorq 125. The new Ray ZR 125  is powered by a 125 cc air-cooled single-cylinder fuel-injected engine producing maximum power output of 8.2 PS at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. Yamaha quotes the new hybrid to return an increased fuel economy by 16%.

The all-new Yamaha Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid disc variant and the Yamaha Street Rally 125 Fi Hybrid also receive Yamahas Bluetooth-enabled Yamaha Motorcycle Connect-X App.

The hybrid variant weighs 99 kilograms and comes with a host of features such as an LED headlamp in the disc brake variant, LED position lamp, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X application in the disc version, side stand engine cut-off and a few more. The storage capacity has been raised to 21 liters.

To make the two wheeler look different from its competitors, Ray ZR Street Rally 125 have wheel stripes, brush guard, block pattern tyres, metal plates and so on to justify the additional cost.

The regular variant is available in Cyan Blue and Metallic Black color schemes for the drum variant whereas the disc version is available in new Racing Blue and Reddish Yellow Cocktail shades alongside Cyan Blue, Matt Red, Metallic Black, and MotoGP edition. The Street Rally comes in the new Matt Copper and Sparkle Green hues.

Yamaha, known for its mid-range two-wheelers, is expected to launch the dual-channel variant of the MT-15 and could be followed by the R15M and the Aerox 155 moto scooter. The R15M will be priced above the existing V3 while the Aerox is powered by the same 155 cc as the V3. Yamaha Launched Ray ZR 125 Hybrid specially for the Indian roads.
