The looks and design of the HF 100 are similar to the HF Deluxe but it does not come with extra body graphics to make it different from the other model. While the overall body is slim and tidy, the rectangular headlight with plastic cowl has become a trademark for the commuter segment over the years. The twin-pod instrument cluster and the single-wide seat are comfortable to sit and ride. The rear also embeds the use of a single rectangular taillight which resembles the Deluxe model. The use of 5-spoke alloy wheels makes the overall design look subtle and practical. It is one of the best commuter bikes on a budget. 

The dimensions of the Hero HF 100 are compact and slim according to the segment standards. The slim fuel-tank design with the small overall length helps the HF 100 to become an easy handler inside the city traffic. The less turning radius and the placement of the handlebar make using the HF 100 less hesitant as compared to the rivals in the segment. It is due to the nimble & easy to handle characteristic that the HF 100 is still in demand even after being so long on sale without any major updates. It measures 1,965 mm in length, 720 mm in width, 1,045 mm in height and gets a wheelbase of 1,235 mm. 

The Hero HF 100 is known for its ultra-reliable and fuel economic engine. Hero has equipped the HF 100 with the most iconic, tried & tested engine in the commuter motorcycle segment of India. The 97.2cc, air-cooled engine makes out a peak power of 8 hp & 8.05 Nm of peak torque. While these figures might not look big over the paper, the lightweight HF 100 picks up well for its weight and power figures. Hero has equipped the HF 100 with a 4-speed gearbox that delivers the power to the rear wheel. Also, due to the small engine capacity which is BS6 compliant now, the HF 100 can deliver up to an ARAI-claimed fuel economy of 83 kmpl which is one of the highest among the segment rivals. Not only does the HF100 impress with styling on a budget but also keeps pocket economical. It is best suited for city commutes though. 

The Hero HF 100 keeps things simple with a basic yet dependable tyre and braking setup designed primarily for everyday commuting. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres, which offer adequate grip and stability for regular city use. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes at both ends, delivering sufficient stopping power for a lightweight commuter motorcycle. While some buyers may expect a front disc brake today, the HF 100 focuses more on affordability and practicality in its segment. As a result, the motorcycle sticks to essential hardware and does not offer many modern features, staying true to its budget-friendly commuter philosophy.

The ride & handling of HF 100 is well-tuned according to the Indian roads. The ride quality is soft with a pillion but it feels firm when ridden solo. Contrary to this, high-speed riding becomes stable and the suspension works well over the undulations of the road. Hero HF 100 is designed for the everyday office commuter and the handling is nimble as well as easy to maneuver through the tight city traffic spaces. The suspension of the bike is adequate for city purposes.
