TVS Ronin
The TVS Ronin 225 is a neo-retro roadster blending classic charm with modern features. Powered by a 225cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine producing 20.1 hp and 19.93 Nm of torque, it comes in SS, DS, TD, and Special Edition variants. Despite its stylish design and ARAI mileage of 42 kmpl, it faces tough market competition, limiting its sales performance. Ideal for city commuting, the Ronin offers a comfortable riding position and a smooth engine, though it falls short on-highway performance. Overall, it’s a stylish, urban-friendly bike with a focus on comfort and city practicality.
TVS Ronin Latest Update
Last Updated On 12th Dec'25: TVS has recently launched Ronin Agonda Edition, which is essentially a fresh, limited-edition spin on the Ronin that brings calm, coastal vibes straight from Goa's Agonda beach. It doesn’t change anything mechanically, but visually, the new white base paint with blue-red retro stripes makes the bike instantly stand out. Sitting neatly between the base and mid variants, the Agonda edition is all about lifestyle, individuality, and that relaxed weekend energy. With unique Agonda badging, a new seat cover, and TVS planning more special editions in the future, the Agonda Edition marks the beginning of a new custom-inspired Ronin subculture.
Earlier this year, TVS Motor Company updated the Ronin with new colour options and enhanced the features of the mid-spec version. The Ronin 225 is a neo-retro scrambler which combines classic design with modern features. However, it has not received any updates lately, and continues to offer the same engine along with a similar set of features. It is powered by a 225.9cc engine, which belts out 20.1 bhp and 19.9 Nm of torque.
Ronin Highlights
On Target

The engine offers good low-end torque, the upright riding position is relaxed, and it gets many premium features.
What We Do Not Like
Vibrations can be felt at higher speeds and it is not meant to do outright high speed runs anyway.

Should I buy the Ronin?
TVS Ronin is primarily a city commuter bike. It has a radical yet unique design that may or may not appeal to customers. The radical design offers good comfort to the rider as it has a relaxed riding position. Meanwhile, the top variant of it is fully loaded with features like Bluetooth connectivity & a dual-channel ABS. It rivals the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 which is the best-seller in this segment. We recommend the Ronin for its solid build quality & torque-rich performance.
- The Agonda Edition stands out with a clean white base inspired by Goa's calm Agonda beach, instantly giving the Ronin a lighter, fresher, lifestyle-oriented aesthetic.
- Retro Blue-Red Pinstripes: Its retro-style blue and red five-stripe graphics add a vintage personality to the motorcycle, creating a sleek, uncluttered visual flow across the tank and bodywork.
- The special Agonda badging on top of the fuel tank reinforces its limited-edition identity, making the motorcycle look more premium and distinct within the Ronin lineup.
- The Agonda Edition gets a fresh seat cover design that complements the coastal-inspired paint scheme, subtly enhancing the bike’s visual comfort and adding to its relaxed, weekender personality.
- The white-led, stripe-based graphics give the Ronin's Agonda Edition a clean appearance without visual heaviness, appealing to city riders who prefer minimal, understated yet stylish motorcycles.
- Despite its new colours, the Agonda Edition stays faithful to the Ronin’s modern-retro silhouette, ensuring the motorcycle remains instantly recognisable while offering a refreshing visual twist.
Ronin body specifications:

- The square engine of the Ronin is designed for good low-end torque and better mid-range performance. Inside the city, it feels very easy to ride and has a lot of torque to potter in higher gears. But, out on the highway, the bike feels out of breath above 90 kmph. Also, the 5-speed transmission has short throws, and it is engineered for short gear ratios. Therefore, the Ronin’s engine is best suited for city riding.
- The fuel economy of this engine is also decent. In our tests, the bike easily gave more than 35 kmpl inside the city, even after riding it hard and fast.
- The USD front suspension and the preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear help provide a very comfortable riding experience on the Ronin. The bike remains pliant on undulations and bumps. Over the cracks of the road and bad roads, the Ronin remains confident yet comfortable.
- The easy riding position and low centre of gravity aid in the agile handling of Ronin. It is a pretty easy bike to ride in traffic. Riders of any height can ride it easily, and the low curb weight is also helpful when parking the bike. On curves, it handles decently and doesn’t let the rider's confidence slip.
- Ronin is equipped with dual disc brakes (on the top variant). It also gets a dual-channel ABS that works seamlessly. The performance of the brakes is very nice & the calibration of ABS is also well put. Even after a full day of riding, the brakes of Ronin will feel strong & responsive.
- In terms of features, it is the most loaded bike in its category. It has a digital cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, LED lights, USD forks, alloy wheels, & the Smart Xonnect tech by TVS as well. All of these features help in the ease of riding as well as make it a smart bike in its price bracket.
