Key updates include a redesigned fairing for improved aerodynamics and airflow, along with three Pro riding modes that enable engine braking, hill-start control pro, dynamic traction control, and five-level adjustable ABS, all while maintaining its existing mechanical configuration.

BMW S 1000 RR Detailed Review
The new BMW S 1000 RR looks strikingly awesome and there are no two ways about it. The old BMW S 1000 RR had asymmetrical headlamps that gave it a unique visual identity. But now, the company has bid adieu to the old asymmetrical headlamps and incomes the new lean and sleek all-LED headlamps that look very modern and fresh. These LED headlights also offer very good illumination and there are integrated slim LED DRLs too along with an aerodynamic clear glass visor. Moving to the side profile, one can see the sharp profile of this new litre-class sports bike.
The new BMW S 1000 RR gets a sharp aerodynamic design language. It sports a muscular fuel tank that has been designed in such a way that it offers good ergonomics to the rider while they are on track. The fairing of the motorcycle looks really good, there are attractive graphics on the body panels in traditional BMW style and then we have BMW’s logo on either side. The S 1000 RR gets a split seat set-up, golden accents on the bottom half of the body and at the rear, it gets a high-raised LED tail lamp along with LED turn indicators. The new BMW S 1000 RR is offered in three colour variants. They are - Hockenheim Silver, Racing Red and Motorsport.

The all-new BMW S 1000 RR is a very handsome looking motorcycle with striking elements like a slim LED headlamp set-up, chunky fairing, muscular fuel tank and slim rear-end.

The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1441 mm and the seat height is rated at 824 mm, so it isn’t comfortable for short riders at all. The new BMW S 1000 RR is a performance-oriented track machine and so it has a low ground clearance of just 140 mm. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 16.5 litres which is quite decent as it doesn’t offer a great fuel economy. Also, the S 1000 RR is one of the lightest litre-class superbikes and it weighs around 197 kilograms.

The BMW S 1000 RR has always been known for its ballistic performance and the new-gen version is no different. The motorcycle is now powered by a newly developed 999cc, in-line four-cylinder engine that churns out a whopping 207 PS of maximum power at 13,500 RPM and 113 Nm of peak torque at 11,000 RPM. The new S 1000 RR develops 8 PS more over the 2018 model while the torque output of the motorcycle remains unchanged. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and it even gets a bi-directional quick shifter. The new BMW S 1000 RR gets BMW’s new ShiftCam Technology that provides the motorcycle with an excellent torque curve that is captivating even at low and middle speeds.
The variable camshaft control is an entirely new technology that provides supreme rideability along with an additional increase in power across the entire engine speed range, reduced emission and fuel consumption levels and the engine now feels better optimised and refined too. The BMW S 1000 RR is a performance-oriented track machine and if you are a skilled rider, you can reach upto speeds of 290 kmph on the track in a jiffy while the motorcycle tops out at 300 kmph. Talking about fuel efficiency, it delivers around 10-15 kmpl in real-world conditions.

The new BMW S 1000 R is based on a bridge-type frame with cast aluminium. The superbike features a Flex frame which is the optimum interplay between the frame design and the engine as a load-bearing element. It improves the aerodynamics of the motorcycle and helps keep the weight of the motorcycle low. For suspension duties, the motorcycle gets USD or upside-down forks at the front with adjustable preload. While at the rears, it gets a WSBK Aluminium swing arm, full floater pro, compression and rebound damping adjustable, adjustable preload.
The braking duties on the motorcycle are performed by 320 mm twin disc brakes at the front while at the rear, it gets a 220 mm disc unit along with a host of safety features. The new BMW S 1000 RR is fitted with ABS Pro (Anti-lock Braking System). It also features DTC (Dynamic Traction Control), DTC Wheelie Function as standard and DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) as an option. It also gets four riding modes as standard. They are Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race. The motorcycle even gets a 6.5-inch full TFT display that shows a ton of information.
