Should I buy the Ninja ZX 10 R?
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is one of the easiest litre-class superbikes to recommend if your priority is outright performance and occasional track riding. It offers race-derived electronics, a phenomenal chassis, and a 200+ PS inline-four engine at a price that undercuts most European rivals by a significant margin. While the committed riding posture, engine heat in traffic, and high running costs make it less practical as a daily motorcycle, they are expected compromises in this segment.
- The Ninja ZX-10R comes equipped with a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT instrument console featuring Bluetooth smartphone connectivity via app. Other convenience features include electronic cruise control, ride-by-wire throttle, and a bi-directional Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) as standard.
- Kawasaki's electronics package is among the most advanced in the litre-class superbike segment. It includes Sport-Kawasaki Traction Control (S-KTRC), Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF), Launch Control (KLCM), Engine Brake Control (KEBC), selectable power modes, and integrated riding modes, allowing the rider to tailor the motorcycle for both road and racetrack.
- The motorcycle also benefits from race-derived aerodynamic winglets that generate additional front-end downforce at high speeds. Combined with the Öhlins electronic steering damper, these enhancements improve stability during hard acceleration, heavy braking, and fast direction changes on the circuit.

- Power comes from a 998cc liquid-cooled, DOHC inline four-cylinder engine producing 196 PS and 112 Nm, while Ram Air increases peak output to 205 PS. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, assist-and-slipper clutch, and Kawasaki Quick Shifter for faster gear changes.
- The engine delivers a broad spread of power but truly comes alive beyond the mid-range, pulling relentlessly towards its 13,000-plus rpm redline. Electronic throttle valves, dual fuel injectors, and refined engine mapping ensure crisp throttle response, excellent drivability, and fast acceleration on both road and track.
- Despite its outright performance, the inline-four remains remarkably refined during steady cruising. The close-ratio transmission, quickshifter, and slipper clutch allow seamless upshifts and downshifts, making the ZX-10R equally capable of setting fast lap times or covering highway miles with ease.

- The Ninja ZX-10R features a sophisticated system with rider aids such as KCMF, S-KTRC traction control, Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Braking System, wheelie control, and slide management. Together, these systems maximise stability without compromising performance.
- Braking performance is handled by dual front discs, complemented by a rear disc. The setup delivers exceptional stopping power, precise lever feel, and excellent fade resistance during aggressive riding and track sessions.
- Additional safety technologies include Launch Control (KLCM), Engine Brake Control (KEBC), selectable power modes, electronic steering damper, and integrated ride modes. These systems work seamlessly to improve rider confidence during hard acceleration, corner exits, and emergency braking, whether on public roads or the racetrack.
