Expert Verdict on 65 SX

KTM 65 SX Detailed Review
- The 65 SX is the second of KTM’s ‘sportminis’ made for children who want to pursue motocross as a career option in the future.
- Similar to the full-size MX bikes from KTM, the 65 SX also features slimmer side panels to make things easier when riders have to stand on the footpegs, and the seat line has also been made flatter.
- The front number plate now makes use of plastic flaps, in order to protect the lower triple clamps from rocks, dirt and other natural elements that might cause any harm.
65 SX body specifications:
| Ground Clearance | 259 mm |

- The 64.9cc, single-cylinder two-stroke engine produces 11.2bhp and 10.8Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox and redlining at an astonishing 11500rpm!
- The new 65 SX features a new cylinder made out of lightweight aluminium, and it incorporates a pressure-controlled exhaust valve. A new mounting concept for the crankshaft has also allowed easier maintenance.
- A new exhaust system derived from KTM’s full-size motocross bikes comes with an improved sealing for the end can, along with new rubber between the header pipe and the silencer.
- It features a new airbox concept; a conventional suction sleeve made from a hard-wearing polyamide and a twin air filter mounting system placed under the seat.
65 SX engine specifications:
| Transmission | Manual |
| Engine | 889 cc |
- The 65 SX is underpinned by a central double-cradle type frame with a steel sub-frame, which also allows the suspension, handlebars, bodywork, and the sub-frame to be adjustable for height.
- The 65 SX’s frame makes use of 35mm XACT USD forks with 215mm of travel, and the air unit can be easily adjusted using an air pump. At the rear, a fully-adjustable WP XACT monoshock is now mounted differently on the frame.
