2020 Hyundai Venue 1.0-L GDI Turbo Petrol DCT Automatic 0-100 KMPH Figures Are Here!

2020 Hyundai Venue 1.0-L GDI Turbo Petrol DCT Automatic 0-100 KMPH Test

The Hyundai Venue GDI Automatic promises a strong performance with its turbo petrol unit. In our tests, the car was launched conventionally in the Drive mode. This involves revving the engine to the max and releasing the brake pedal. However, just like most other DCT gearboxes, the gearbox on the Venue restricts the engine revs to a maximum of 2000 RPM at the time of launch. In this test, the Venue reached the 100 kmph mark from a standstill in 12.6 secs. In the second run, the gearbox was in Manual mode, which further lets the engine rev a little more before upshifting on its own. The 0-100 kmph timings of the Venue, when launched in Manual mode, came out to be 12.3 secs which is impressive.

However, we also did have a third trial of the Hyundai Venue. This trial involves revving the engine to the max in Neutral mode and shifting to drive mode at about 4000 RPMs, just where peak power output starts. When launched this way, the Hyundai Venue reached the 100 kmph mark in just 12.1 secs.  But, it is worth noting this method of launching the car can be harmful to the mechanical components and we do not recommend launching the car this way very often.

The tests indicate the potential of the turbo petrol engine powering the Venue. This engine comes mated to a 6-Speed manual gearbox or a 7-Speed DCT gearbox. Moreover, the 1.0-L GDI engine is not available in the base variant. Currently, the 2020 Hyundai Venue rivals against the likes of MS Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300.
