KIA Sonet

Best KIA Cars Under rs 15 lakh

The KIA Sonet is one of the most loved sub-4-metre SUVs in the Indian market. The Sonet continues to impress buyers with its muscular stance, feature-loaded cabin, and multiple engine options. The brand launched the Sonet in 2020, and over the years, it has received multiple updates. In 2024, the brand launched its first major facelift. Currently, the Sonet is due for an update, but it continues to sell in decent numbers.

The Sonet is available with three engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. These engine options cater to different types of buyers and offer multiple choices to customers. On the features front, the Sonet offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an electric sunroof, ADAS features, wireless charging, a Bose 7-speaker sound system, among other convenience and safety features. It is available in eight primary variants, with prices starting from Rs 7.41 lakh (ex-showroom) and going up to Rs 14.09 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, the Sonet is now long overdue for an update and feels a bit dated compared to its rivals, many of which have already received facelifts or even generational updates. KIA's sister company, Hyundai, has already launched the latest-generation Venue, which now feels fresher and more feature-loaded compared to the Sonet.

KIA Syros

Kia Syros

The KIA Syros was launched in 2025 and received both praise and criticism from the audience. The Syros is one of the most spacious, practical, and feature-loaded sub-4-metre SUVs in the Indian market, but its design has attracted a lot of criticism. The Syros comes with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both engine options are available with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the turbo-petrol engine gets a 7-speed DCT gearbox and the diesel engine gets a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The brand has recently updated the vehicle with a few new features and added some features to the lower trims to make it more feature-loaded. On the features front, it comes with a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, wireless charging, ventilated front and rear seats, reclining rear seats, automatic climate control, and a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other convenience and safety features. The Syros is available in seven variants, with prices starting at Rs 8.42 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec variant is priced just over Rs 15 lakh at Rs 15.82 lakh (ex-showroom).

KIA Seltos

Kia Seltos

KIA entered the Indian market with the launch of the Seltos as its debut vehicle back in 2019. Since then, the KIA Seltos has been among the top-selling mid-size SUVs in the Indian market, giving tough competition to its rivals. In 2025, KIA India launched the new-generation Seltos with segment-leading dimensions and features. It is now the longest SUV in the segment and offers some of the best features in its segment.

The Seltos is available with three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. These engine options are paired with manual and automatic transmission options to suit different types of buyers. Now, if we talk about the under-Rs 15 lakh price range, four variants of the Seltos are priced under Rs 15 lakh. These variants are decently equipped with features such as a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered front seats, and other convenience and safety features. The Seltos also comes 5-Star BNCAP crash test rating for both adult and child safety.

The KIA Carens was KIA's first MPV for the Indian market, and the MPV received a lot of praise for its spacious cabin and feature-loaded layout. In 2025, KIA launched the first major update for the Carens and named it the Carens Clavis. The brand not only changed the name but also made the Carens Clavis an additional MPV offering in its lineup, while retaining the Carens with a single Premium (O) variant. The Carens now comes with the same design and a limited choice of engines. It is now primarily targeted at family buyers who simply want an MPV for their family and do not expect many features. Another set of buyers for the Carens is fleet operators who want the diesel engine option. The Carens is available with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Our Verdict

Kia has established a strong foothold in the Indian automotive market. Despite being a relatively young player, the brand has made a significant mark in the industry. Kia studied the Indian market well and developed its products accordingly, which helped the brand establish itself among the top automakers in the country. Kia cars are feature-loaded, even from the base variants, and customers are generally happy with the fit and finish of its vehicles. Moreover, the brand's after-sales support and service network are well established across the country, giving customers greater confidence.

Kia has proved that if a brand understands its customers well and develops products accordingly, it can succeed in a market like India, where competition is fierce and customers are highly price-sensitive.
