Our Verdict

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) offers greater flexibility to customers who don't want to make a large upfront investment. By separating the battery cost from the vehicle price, customers can significantly reduce the initial purchase cost and pay for the battery based on usage. This lowers the financial burden and may allow buyers to opt for a higher variant or one with a larger battery pack. Depending on the manufacturer's BaaS policy, it can also help ease concerns related to battery ownership and replacement costs.
