Mahindra Thar- Rs 13.18 Lakh

The new Mahindra Thar is the most affordable 4X4 AWD in India. The vehicle has gained a lot of popularity, and its road presence has been increasing since its launch. There are two engine options for the latest Thar generation. The formidable mHawk 130 diesel engine from Mahindra produces 130 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. The mStallion 150 TGDi petrol engine, which produces 150 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, is the other option. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Mahindra Thar is one of the most capable off-roaders on the market with AWD. Mahindra Thar prices start at Rs 13.18 lakh and go up to Rs 15.54 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi).

Force Gurkha- Rs 14.10 Lakh

The second cheapest 4x4 in India is the updated model from Force Motors. It competes directly with the Mahindra Thar and another good 4X4 SUV on the Indian market. The Force Gurkha is powered by a 2596 CC FM 2.6 CR CD BS-VI diesel engine that produces 91 horsepower and 250 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission is paired with the engine. The Gurkha comes with a new touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth, as well as tilt and telescopic steering, USB charging ports, power windows, central locking, air conditioning, LED headlights with DRLs, TMPS, and even a factory-installed snorkel. The price of the Force Gurkha is Rs 14.10 lakh (Ex-Showroom).

Isuzu D-Max V-Cross- Rs 22.07 Lakh

The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross is a pick-up truck-based vehicle offered for personal usage in India. This vehicle from the Japanese manufacturer is capable of conquering any terrain and weather conditions. With the D-Max V-Cross, Isuzu offers two 4x4 AWD variants. The V-Cross Z Prestige 4x4 Automatic and V-Cross Z 4x4 Manual are both powered by an 1898 CC diesel engine with 163 horsepower and 360 Nm of maximum torque. The V-Cross is a particle vehicle for those looking for something unique, with the desire to go across all terrains in their own vehicle. The V-Cross has a lot of storage room and lots of safety systems including traction control, hill descent control, ESC, front and side airbags, and so on. Isuzu V-Cross 4X4 has a starting price of Rs 22.07 lakh and can go up to Rs 25.60 lakh (Ex-Showroom)

Mahindra XUV 700 AX 7 AWD - Rs 22.25 Lakh

The Mahindra XUV 700 is one of the most anticipated car launches in India in 2021. Since its introduction, the SUV has grown in popularity among SUV customers. The SUV has a beautiful appearance, a well-equipped interior, and a slew of other features and technology. The vehicle's favourable reception can be seen in its long waiting period, which can last up to 18 months depending on the variant chosen. In the top-of-the-line AX7 variant with a diesel engine, the SUV is also available with 4X4 AWD as an option. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine in the XUV 700 4X4 model delivers 182 bhp power and 450 Nm of peak torque. The 4X4 model also comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Jeep Compass Limited (O) 4X4 - Rs 27.19 Lakh

The Jeep Compass is a popular mid-size SUV in India, and its 4X4 AWD versatility allows it to handle any terrain. The Compass 4X4 has a 2.0-litre multi-jet diesel engine that produces 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of peak torque and is paired to a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This SUV comes standard with ABS, ASR / Traction Control, Auto-Dimming Rear-View Mirror, Central Locking, EBD, ESP, Hill Assist, and ISOFIX (Child-Seat Mount). At Rs 27.19 lakh (Ex-Showroom), the Jeep Compass Limited (O) 4X4 is available.

Hyundai Tucson 4WD AT GLS- Rs 27.47 Lakh

Hyundai Tucson is the brands premium and feature-loaded SUV present in the Indian market. The Tucson comes with a boatload of features and a capable 4WD variant. Hyundai Tucson's base model is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 152 PS and 192 Nm of torque. It is only available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 4WD AT GLS variant comes with an R 2.0 l diesel engine which churns 185 PS power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The top-spec 4WD AT GLS variant of Tucson is priced at Rs 27.47 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi).   

Volkswagen Tiguan- 31.99 Lakh

Volkswagen Tiguan is another luxury SUV that got a place on the list. The Tiguan comes in a single variant which is combined with VWs 2L TSI petrol engine which produces 190 PS power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG 4Motion gearbox. VW's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system and various riding modes are also available on the Tiguan. The Tiguan comes with a plethora of features such as an automatic headlamp, 6 airbags, cruise control, hill descent control, electronic differential lock, etc. The all-new Volkswagen Tiguan is priced at Rs 31.99 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
