Honda has finally launched the anticipated City 2020 with a very competitive price tag. Honda City is still the most expensive sedan in its segment and offers some class-leading features and specifications. It is worth noting that Honda has launched three variants of the City - V, VX and ZX and all the variants are available with all possible powertrains. It means even the petrol CVT option is available with all three variants. Let's see the price and variants of the new Honda City and find out which one you should buy!
Honda City V

Honda City V variant is available with petrol manual at Rs 10,89,900, petrol CVT at Rs 12,19,900 and diesel manual at Rs 12,39,900. The V variant is the base variant of the City but packs in a lot of features. Let's see in detail what the V variant offers:
- Projector headlights with 3-pot design and LED DRLs
- Z-shaped 3D LED taillights
- 8.0-inch touchscreen system with Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Alexa Connect

Honda City VX (Features over V)
Honda City VX is the second top variant of the new City, and it is also offered in three variants. Petrol manual is priced at Rs 12,25,900, petrol CVT is priced at Rs 13,55,900 and diesel manual is priced at Rs 13,75,900 ex-showroom. All the VX variants of the new City are Rs 1.36 lakh dearer than the equivalent V trims.

- Six airbags
- Automatic headlights with light sensor
- Electric sunroof
- Auto-lock walk away feature
- Auto-dimming IRVM
- 7.0-inch Semi digital driver's display with G-meter
- Diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels
- Premium 8-speaker music system
- Rear reading lights, seatback pockets and mobile holder space
- Leather-wrapped gear lever and steering wheel

The VX variant of the City comes with some nifty features, but not some significant features have been carried over. Some may consider the electric sunroof an excellent feature, and it is offered with the VX trim. Some premium features like six airbags, 7-inch semi-digital driver's display, 8-speakers and diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels. For the extra 1.36 lakh, you are effectively not getting a lot of equipment, but it can be a worthy upgrade over the V if you are tight on budget.
Honda City ZX (Features over VX)
Honda City ZX is the top trim and the one with all the bells and whistles. It is also offered in three variants - petrol manual at Rs 13,14,900, petrol CVT at Rs 14,44,900 and diesel manual at Rs 14,64,900 ex-showroom. All the three versions of the ZX trim are Rs 89,000 dearer than the equivalent VX trims.
- Full LED headlights with 9-array LED shell
- LED indicators included with LED headlights
- Lane watch camera
- LED fog lights
- Leather upholstery with leather-wrapped dashboard
- Chrome door handles
- Ambient lighting with LED front and rear map lights
- Remote open/close feature for windows and sunroof
- All four windows with one-touch up/down
- Read sunshade and foldable ORVMs with welcome function.
The ZX trim features the new City is known for - full LED headlights and a Lane watch camera. Both the features are exclusive on the Honda City ZX, and by looking at the price difference, the added features make sense. Summing it up, the V variant of the City is the most value for money variant and yous should buy one if you want a reasonably loaded sedan and can miss the overrated electric sunroof. Honda has done a great job in breaking up the price and variants of the City.

If you have an excess of money, buying the ZX variant makes more sense than the VX, as it offers the best in class features without charging a bomb. However, the VX trim combines both the base and top variant and is a great deal who are looking for a family sedan on a fixed budget.
