Volkswagen Vento 1.0L TSI The plan for owning a German sedan was about a year long wait as I was adding money to my budget to own this car. The Vento has a timeless design and the simple things in this makes it a great car. Like the superb build wquality or the 6-speed AT gearbox and the peppy petrol motor. My daily running is less than 20 km so obviously a petrol option was the only choice. Just when I made up my mind of owning a 1.6L Vento, Volkswagen discontinued the car and brought in 1.0L TSI motor. I was disappointed and that what fun it would be. Well, I was wrong as on the test drive with the 6-speed AT, it proved me wrong. It has a 110 bhp peppy motor and provides a healthy torque of 175 Nm. What’s interesting is that I am getting a mileage of 12 km/l which is great in my commute. I wish it was much higher but that’s fine. I have opted for the aftermarket sound system and they are just great. Till now I have covered about 1000 km in this one and have faced no major problem.

I have a 2018 VW Vento highline TDI. The car has run for about 40 thousand kilometres so far and has not given any sort of problems to me till now. The elegant and subtle design language makes it one of the best looking cars in the segment while the interiors too are very comfortable. The seats provide optimum comfort and the ride and handling balance of the car is also great which makes it a great long mile-muncher. The manual transmission is easy to use but the clutch is a little too heavy for my liking. The engine pulls effortlessly and I like driving this car on the ghat roads. The fuel economy from this car stand at around 14-15 KMPL which I think is decent for a car of this size and weight. The after sales support from Volkswagen too has been great so far.

Volkswagen Vento 1.0L TSI Highline I picked up the Highline variant of Vento and to be honest this is my longest dream to own a Volkswagen. Right from the build quality to the the refined petrol motor, I am loving the Volkswagen experience. I drive the automatic version with 6-speed auto and honestly, the 1.0L TSI motor revvs and asks for more. The torque is sufficient and I could not think of driving any other car apart from Vento. This is my third car and is mostly for city runs. I have covered nearly 3,000 km in this one. Volkswagen could have inproved the design of the sedan and could have offered more features as this one really is an old design. There’s hardly any difference to the Vento which was launched 10 years ago and this one.

Volkswagen Vento 1.6L TDI I own a 2012 model of Vento which came with a bigger diesel engine. This is a stage 1 tuned sedan and now produces 120 bhp which is greater than new City and Verna. I have completed about 1 lakh km on this and till now I have not faced any major problem. I have opted for aftermarket brake pads and air filter which helps in performance of this car. One thing Volkswagen could have improved is the design of this car. I am not complaining it since I own a 2012 model but for future buyers as they are getting a dated design. All my services have been done by Volkswagen itself and the car is running buttery smooth!
