Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Superbly priced for the segment it belongs to
  • Use of cycle parts from siblings makes the maintenance costs less
  • Puch-packed performance from the engine
  • Agile handling makes it fun to ride on the city streets
  • Braking entices confidence inside the new riders
  • Powerful Engine: 250cc liquid-cooled motor with 29.5bhp and 25Nm ensures strong performance.
  • Sporty Design: Aggressive streetfighter styling with sharp bodywork and LED lighting.
  • Feature-Packed: TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, traction control.
  • Performance-Oriented Handling: Trellis frame, USD forks, and preload-adjustable monoshock.
  • Slipper Clutch: Reduces wheel lock-up during aggressive downshifts.
  • Dual-Channel ABS: Offers better braking control with switchable rear ABS.
Cons
  • Design looks similar to the smaller N250 and NS200
  • Build quality could have been better considering the use of cycle parts
  • Seat comfort is not as good as you would like it to be
  • Barebone features like LCD console make it feel less premium
  • No Adjustable Levers: Lacks adjustable brake and clutch levers for better ergonomics.
  • Pillion may feel uncomfortable: Due to a smaller pillion seat, pillion may find it discomforting to sit for longer rides.
  • Build quality: The bike uses hard plastic in some areas, but this is okay when we look at the price point.
  • Low visibility of the TFT screen: The TFT screen offers good visibility in the shade but struggles under direct sunlight.
  • Stiff Competition: Faces tough rivals like KTM 250 Duke and Bajaj Pulsar N250, but an aggressive price point is the key of success for the brand.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is a solid bike that's good enough for everyday riding. While it could offer better comfort and improved parts availability at workshops and showrooms, it still stands out for its performance and value in the price segment. A great choice if you're looking for a powerful commuter bike.

I already own the NS 160 and now I'm planning to go for the NS 400. Even though the Bajaj engine hasn’t been very reliable for me — it seized three times in the last 7 years — I still want to stick with Bajaj. There’s something about their bikes that keeps me interested, and I’m hopeful for better performance with the next one.
