New 2021 Aprilia SXR 125 BS6 First Look Review - The Best 125cc Maxi-Scooter in India?

Aprilia is a very popular two-wheeler manufacturer in the Indian market among performance enthusiasts. This Italian automaker makes some great affordable yet powerful and fun to ride machines. Just a few months ago, the company launched the Aprilia SXR 160 in India. But, to cater to a large number of people, the company recently launched the new Aprilia SXR 125 BS6 too. So, in this article, we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2021 Aprilia SXR 125 BS6.

Aprilia SXR 125 - Looks and Colour Options
The new Aprilia SXR 125 looks completely identical to the Aprilia SXR 160. Both these maxi-styled scooters look very handsome and they have a great road presence too. At the front, the SXR 125 gets large twin LED headlamps with LED DRLs. There is a small blacked-out windscreen, minor fairing, LED turn-indicators and chunky body panels too. The Aprilia SXR 125 has huge dimensions and at the rear, it gets LED tail lamps with unique split grab rails that have been neatly integrated into the body. It is available in four colours. They are Matt Blue, Matt Black, Glossy Red and Glossy White.

Aprilia SXR 125 - Engine and Transmission
The new Aprilia SXR 125 is powered by a BS6 compliant 124.45cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 9.9 PS of power at 7700 RPM and 9.7 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a CVT. This is the same motor that also does its duty in the Aprilia SR 125 and the Storme 125 too.

Aprilia SXR 125 - Tyres, Brakes and Features
The new Aprilia SXR 125 gets telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock absorber at the rear. The braking duties on the maxi-scooter are performed by a disc brake at the front and at the rear, it gets a drum unit along with a combi brake system (CBS) as an additional safety aid. The scooter rides on 12-inch tubeless tyres and both the tyres measure 120/70-12. The Aprilia SXR 125 also gets a large 5.7-inch all-digital instrument cluster that displays a ton of information and gets an optional smartphone connectivity feature too.

Aprilia SXR 125 - Price and Rivals
The new 2021 Aprilia SXR 125 BS6 has been launched in India at Rs. 1.15 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. At this price point, it doesn't have any direct rivals in India, however, indirectly it rivals the Suzuki Burgman Street 125 and the Aprilia SXR 160.
