Ather Konarc S Line Variants Explained; Which One To Choose?

Ather Energy has launched its first mass-market electric scooter, the Ather Konarc, at an introductory price of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom). The new scooter is based on the brand’s new EL platform and targets first-time EV buyers. The Ather Konarc is available in two trim levels: S Line and Z Line. The S Line is currently on sale, while the Z Line is expected to be launched in 2027. The Konarc S Line is available with three battery pack options, with the price, range, and features varying depending on the battery pack selected. Ather Konarc S Line - Variant & Pricing

The Konarc S Line trim is available in 3 variants based on the battery pack options. The scooter's price ranges from Rs 99,999 to Rs 1.45 lakh. The scooter offers a claimed range of 100 km to Rs 161 km on a single charge.

Ather Konarc S - 2.1 kWh

The base variant of the Konarc is powered by a 2.1kWh battery pack. This version offers an IDC-claimed range of 100km, while the brand claims a real-world range of 80km. The scooter uses a PMSM motor producing 4kW and 16Nm, with a top speed of 70km/h and a 0-40km/h acceleration time of 5 seconds. It misses out on several features and offers basic equipment for the rider, such as a 4.2-inch LCD cluster, drum brakes at both ends, telescopic front forks, among other features.

Ather Konarc S - 2.7 kWh

The mid-spec Konarc S Line comes with a 2.7 kWh battery pack, offering an IDC-claimed range of 125 km on a single charge. This variant offers a decent number of additional features compared to the base variant. It gets increased power output of 4.7 kW and a quicker 0–40 kmph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds. It also gets better hardware, including a 220 mm front disc brake for improved braking performance. On the features front, it gets a 7-inch LCD cluster that displays all the essential ride-related information. It also gets features such as turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, auto hold, Fall Safe, Air Walk, SMS and call alerts, remote charging status, theft alert, Find My Scooter, and other connected features.

All these additions make the scooter Rs 22,000 more expensive than the base variant, with a price of Rs 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, customers can purchase this variant from the end of this month.

Ather Konarc S - 3.5 kWh

The top-of-the-line variant of the Konarc S Line comes with a 3.5 kWh battery pack and offers an IDC-claimed range of 161 km on a single charge. This variant offers similar performance to the mid-spec variant and gets the same hardware setup. On the features front, it gets the same 7-inch display and the same set of connected features as the mid-spec variant. The key difference is the availability of a 450W onboard charger along with a 450W offboard charger as standard. This enhances the charging capability, allowing the scooter to charge from 0–80% in 3 hours and 10 minutes. The variant can accept a combined charging power of 900W for faster charging.

Which Variant Should You Buy?

The mid-spec variant with the 2.7 kWh battery pack is a good option for people looking to buy an electric scooter. It has an IDC-claimed range of 125 km, while the real-world range is expected to be around 100 km. Moreover, with a 7-inch display and features such as Air Walk, Fall Safe, Auto Hold, and more, this variant offers decent value for money. The hardware is similar to the top-spec variant, which makes it an even better option, as customers do not have to compromise on this front. Overall, it is a suitable choice for buyers looking for a decent range and a good number of features. However, if someone only needs an electric scooter for short commutes, the base variant with a 100 km range is also a good option.
