Hyundai Venue Old Vs New Design

The new Venue retains the core boxy silhouette of the car it replaces, and there are plenty of traces of Hyundai's other SUVs in its design. The front-end in particular, with the connected LED strip and grille treatment may remind you of the Alcazar, while the profile has strong hints of the Exter. The rear sees a rather drastic change, with a completely new slim tail lamp section connected by an LED strip. The new tailgate also looks cleaner and minimalistic.

In comparison, the outgoing Venue took inspiration from the Palisade with the chrome-slatted grille, but the rest of the car remained more or less familiar with the pre-facelift car, with another exception of the connected tail lamp treatment.

In terms of dimensions, the new Venue has grown, as Hyundai says the wheelbase now measures 2520mm, which is 20mm longer than the outgoing car's. The height and width of the new Venue have also grown over the older car by 48mm and 30mm respectively.

The new Venue will also get two new colour schemes; Mystic Sapphire, and Hazel Blue, and additionally these will also be available in a dual-tone option with the Abyss Black roof finish.

Hyundai Venue Old Vs New Interiors And Features

The new Venue comes with a drastically-revamped interior that seems to take inspiration from some global-spec Hyundai models. The entire centre console has been redone, with physical buttons for the A/C and media controls, and the A/C vents becoming far slimmer. Like most modern cars, the Venue now also gets a blended screen setup for the infotainment display and instrument cluster, housing both the 12.3-inch units. The infotainment display has been turned slightly towards the driver's side, so as to help the driver not take eyes off the road. However, we suspect this setup may not make it onto the lower variants.

The steering wheel on the new Venue is also different, and seems to draw inspiration from the Creta Electric's unit with no Hyundai branding on it. It is a three-spoke unit with controls mounted on either side.

Some other features that are going to be offered on the new Venue include a four-step power-adjustable driver seat, a two-step reclining rear bench, drive modes, traction control, and rear window blinds among other things. The addition of a blocked panel on the lower front vent further seems to confirms an ADAS suite, although it remains unclear whether this will be a Level 1 or a Level 2 system.

In comparison, the outgoing Venue more or less retained the same interior layout as the pre-facelift version, which was more functional and looked conventional.

Hyundai Venue Old Vs New Powertrains

Hyundai has not revealed the specifications, but it has said that the new Venue will carry the 1.2-litre nat-asp petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. These are highly likely going to be in the same state of tune as the outgoing car. In terms of output, the 1.2-litre unit churns out 82bhp and 115Nm of torque, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol comes with 118.3bhp and 172Nm of torque, and the diesel puts out 114bhp and 250Nm of torque.

Verdict

With the next-gen Venue, Hyundai will look to recover lost ground and win back a share of the compact SUV segment, which is very hotly contested nowadays. Given Hyundai's ability to pack in features at a tempting price tag, something tells us the Venue might prove to be a winner yet again.
