Level-2 ADAS

The new Renault Duster offers a comprehensive ADAS suite with 17 features that enhance both safety and driver convenience. Key features include adaptive cruise control (DCT only), lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, driver attention alert, 360-degree camera, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and more. These systems actively assist the driver, especially on highways and in traffic-heavy conditions, reducing fatigue and improving overall safety.
Variants Available: This full ADAS suite is available from the Iconic variant onwards, priced from Rs 16.99 lakhs.
Competitors with the Same Feature:
The Hyundai Creta offers the full suite of ADAS functions from its SXC tech variant onwards, priced at Rs 15.70 lakhs onwards with 21 features.
Kia Seltos offers the assistance features from its HTX(A) trim onwards, which is priced at Rs 16.69 lakhs onwards, matching the Creta with 21 features.
Panoramic Sunroof

The Renault Duster comes with an electric panoramic sunroof that significantly enhances the cabin's sense of space and openness. It allows more natural light into the cabin, improving overall ambience and making long drives feel more premium and comfortable. Interestingly, you do not get any single-pane sunroof option for the lower variants, which might have been a buyer's magnet for the lower end of the spectrum.
Variants Available: This feature is available from the Techno variant onwards, priced at Rs 13.49 lakhs.
Competitors with the Same Feature: Hyundai Creta, which is one of its strongest rivals, offers a panoramic sunroof from EX(O) onwards, priced at Rs. 12.59 lakhs onwards.
The new Kia Seltos, based on the K3 platform, offers a panoramic sunroof from its HTK(O) trim onwards, priced at Rs 14.19 lakhs.
6-Way Powered Electric & Ventilated Front Seats

For added comfort, the Duster offers 6-way electrically adjustable front seats along with seat ventilation, helping occupants stay comfortable in varying weather conditions. The ability to adjust seating position electrically also improves driving ergonomics during long journeys. Both the driver and co-passenger seats are electrically adjustable, adding a layer of convenience that not all rivals offer.
Variants Available: These features are offered from the Iconic variant onwards, priced at Rs 16.99 lakhs.
Competitors with the Same Feature:
The Hyundai Creta offers 8-way electrical seat along with ventilated front seats adjustment from SX premium onwards from Rs 15.79 lakhs onwards. While you get more flexibility for the electric adjustment for the driver, the co-driver seat is manually adjustable only.
25.65 cm (10.1-inch) openR Link Multimedia System With Google Built-In

The Duster features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built in, allowing seamless access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play apps directly from the system. This eliminates the need for constant smartphone connectivity while offering a more integrated and intuitive user experience, which will prove to be really convenient in the long run.
Variants Available: This Google-integrated system is available from the Iconic variant onwards (standard openR system from Evolution onwards), priced at Rs 16.99 lakhs onwards.
Competitors with the Same Feature: No other rivals offer a built-in Google system.
Electric Powered Tailgate
The electric-powered tailgate adds a layer of convenience by enabling effortless opening and closing of the boot, especially useful when your hands are full. It improves everyday usability and enhances the premium feel of the SUV. Also, while the Tata Sierra offers a gesture-controlled boot, the Duster skips on this quirk altogether.
Variants Available: This feature is available from the Techno variant onwards, priced at Rs 13.49 lakhs.
Competitors with the Same Feature: Only Tata Sierra offers an electric-powered tailgate amongst its rivals from its Accomplished Plus variant priced at Rs 20.29 lakhs. Where the Sierra takes even more advantage is its gesture-controlled operation.
Features Missing With The Renault Duster
- A Diesel Engine: Though not a feature, the Renault Duster comes in just a petrol and petrol hybrid guise. The popular diesel mill is missing from the entire line-up.
- Memory seat function: The Duster misses out on memory seat function for the driver's profile, a feature that the Seltos offers.
- AWD: While not all rivals offer an AWD set-up in this segment, the duster already offers it in the international-spec variant.

Verdict
With the new Duster, Renault clearly shifts focus from being just a rugged SUV to a more well-rounded, feature-rich offering. It now delivers on areas where the previous model felt dated, especially in terms of technology, cabin experience, and safety. Features like ADAS, ventilated seats, and a Google-integrated infotainment system bring it in line with modern expectations, while still retaining the Duster's core strengths. That said, the real success of the new Duster will depend on how well Renault can redeem its past success, especially when Creta has single handedly taken over the space.
