JSW Jetour T2: Strong Occupant Protection

In the ASEAN NCAP evaluation, the JSW Jetour T2 delivered impressive results in adult occupant safety, scoring 29.74 out of 32 points. The SUV secured 13.74 out of 16 points in the frontal impact test, while achieving a perfect 8 out of 8 score in the side impact assessment. Crash testing showed that the vehicle's occupant compartment remained stable during frontal impact, indicating strong structural integrity. Test results revealed good protection levels for the driver's head and upper legs, while chest protection was rated as adequate.

The JSW Jetour T2 also demonstrated solid performance in child safety tests, achieving 40.63 out of 51 points in this category. The SUV recorded 15.62 out of 16 points in frontal crash protection and a full 8 out of 8 points in side impact protection. The vehicle also scored 9.02 out of 12 points for child seat installation compatibility, while vehicle-based safety systems contributed 7 out of 13 points.
Safety Assist & Motorcyclist Protection

In addition to passive safety, the JSW Jetour T2 performed strongly in active safety categories. The SUV secured 18 out of 21 points in Safety Assist systems, showcasing the effectiveness of its driver assistance technologies. The vehicle achieved full points for Emergency Brake Assist and seatbelt reminders, while Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) scored moderately in both city and inter-urban testing scenarios. Advanced safety assist technologies also contributed positively to the final score, helping the SUV achieve a competitive rating within the segment. For motorcyclist safety, the Jetour T2 earned 13 out of 16 points, thanks to features such as Blind Spot Detection and advanced pedestrian protection systems, which are designed to improve safety for vulnerable road users.

India Launch Timeline
The JSW Jetour T2 is expected to play a crucial role in the upcoming collaboration between JSW Motors and Chery Automobile. The model is widely believed to serve as the foundation for JSW's first SUV for the Indian market. Reports indicate that the SUV could arrive in India around Diwali 2026, although the final product may feature JSW branding and a new name. A design patent linked to the vehicle has already surfaced, and teaser silhouettes from JSW hint at styling similar to the Jetour T2.
Verdict
With a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating, the JSW Jetour T2 has demonstrated strong safety credentials even before its official arrival in India. Its solid crash test results, advanced driver assistance features, and modern safety systems position it as a promising contender in the upcoming JSW lineup. If the India-spec version retains these safety standards while offering competitive pricing, the JSW Jetour T2 could also be sent for BNCAP immediately at its arrival for that extra proof of the build quality.
