Design: The Jaecoo J5-based EV features a clean, modern SUV design with a premium, almost European flavour, and notably, it appears visually very close to the Range Rover Evoque. The resemblance is most evident in its proportions - short overhangs, a strong shoulder line, and a gently sloping roofline, all of which mirror the Evoque’s stance. 
Up front, the sleek LED headlamps and minimal EV-style grille give it a sharp look, while the floating roof effect and squared wheel arches add to its upscale appeal. At the rear, slim connected tail lamps with a black trim elements further enhance that Evoque-like character. Overall, the design feels premium and familiar, clearly borrowing inspiration from luxury SUVs while staying accessible.

Powertrain: The Jaecoo J5-based EV is expected to feature a single-motor, front-wheel-drive electric powertrain, tuned more for everyday usability than outright performance. It is likely to come with a 60 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, paired with an electric motor producing around 200-210 hp and 280-290 Nm, offering a smooth and linear driving experience. The range is expected to be in the 400 km+ bracket (WLTP/NEDC claimed), making it practical for both city and occasional highway use. Additionally, with fast-charging support of up to 130 kW, it should offer convenient top-ups, reinforcing its positioning as a well-rounded, mass-market EV package.

Features: The Jaecoo J5-based EV is expected to come loaded with modern, tech-forward features, aligning well with its premium positioning. It is likely to get a large 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a digital driver display and voice commands for seamless connectivity. 
Comfort features could include a panoramic glass roof, ventilated and heated front seats, powered seats, and ambient lighting, enhancing the in-cabin experience. Additionally, features like wireless charging, power tailgate, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) further improve convenience and safety, making it feel well-equipped and contemporary for its segment.

Expected Launch: This car is expected to launch around 2027 and will be the second model introduced by JSW, following the Jetour T2-based SUV.
