Tata Punch EV Facelift Exterior: Cleaner, More Mature Design

The most noticeable changes with the Tata Punch EV Facelift are at the front. Tata has redesigned the bumper with a smoother, less cluttered profile that gives the Punch EV a neater appearance. The vertically stacked headlamp cluster now appears larger and more prominent, while the lower air dam has been reshaped for a broader stance.

Interestingly, the earlier strip connecting the DRLs has been removed, lending the fascia a more minimalist aesthetic. The signature Y-shaped LED DRLs remain intact, as does the centrally positioned charging flap placed just below the bonnet line. A front camera now sits beneath the charging port as part of the 360-degree setup.

From the side, the resemblance to the outgoing model is strong. The muscular stance continues with flared wheel arches, thick body cladding, blacked-out ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, roof rails, and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles. The facelift introduces new 16-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels that not only improve efficiency but also add a contemporary touch.

At the rear, however, the changes are more substantial. The Punch EV now gets connected LED tail-lamps borrowed from the refreshed ICE Punch. A reworked bumper with textured silver skid-plate detailing enhances the rugged SUV appeal The colour palette has also been refreshed, with seven options now available: Bengal Rouge, Caramel, Fearless Yellow, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, Supernova Copper and Pure Grey. Contrast black roof combinations further elevate the styling.

Dimensionally, the Tata Punch EV continues to strike a balance between compact city-friendly proportions and SUV-like capability. It measures 3827 mm in length, 1742 mm in width, and 1615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2445 mm. Despite its compact footprint, it offers a healthy 195 mm ground clearance and a respectable 450 mm water-wading capacity, reinforcing its practical and rugged credentials in the electric SUV segment.

Interior: Familiar Layout, Subtle Upgrades

Inside, the overall dashboard architecture remains largely unchanged, maintaining the free-standing infotainment screen, touch-based climate control panel and gloss-black centre console. However, Tata has introduced a refreshed white-grey dual-tone theme and updated leatherette upholstery to brighten up the cabin ambience. The two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo continues, while the central AC vents have been subtly redesigned.

Power window switches now feature toggle-style controls, adding a slightly more modern tactile experience. Higher variants benefit from a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The graphics have been updated, giving the interface a cleaner and more contemporary feel.
Features & Safety: Still Well-Equipped
The Punch EV facelift remains generously equipped, particularly in the higher trims. Key features include ventilated front seats, wireless charging, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, a voice-enabled electric sunroof, air purifier, auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. Connected car technology and a 360-degree camera continue to enhance everyday usability. Safety is comprehensive, with six airbags offered as standard. Additional equipment includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill-hold assist, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, front and rear parking sensors, blind-view monitor, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
Verdict
Tata Punch EV facelift brings a refreshed styling appeal to the entry-level electric mover from Tata, but keeping its overall stance more or less the same. What the buyers will like more is the bigger 40 kWh battery pack that offers an ARAI certified range of 468 km on a single charge. But with this update, the brand will try to keep the repuation of being a pioneer in one the biggest portfolio of EVs in the country.
