With BS6 norms coming into action, Volkswagen has updated its line-up with new and better engine options. The VW Polo also gets a new 1.0-L TSI engine and features refreshed styling. What's New?

The 2020 VW Polo BS6 features an updated bumpers design, a new elegant looking grille at the front, and refreshed alloy wheels design in addition to a number of other additions in terms of features. However, the main highlight of the car remains the addition of the new 1.0-L TSI engine and a new 6-speed AT which makes it a much more mature package.

Engine, Gearbox, and Performance

The 2020 VW Polo BS6 gets two engine options - 1.0L TSI and a 1.0L MPI petrol engine. Talking about the 1.0L MPI engine first, this engine churns out 76 PS of maximum power while the peak torque figures stand at 95 Nm. A 5-Speed MT comes mated with this engine and the rated fuel economy from this motor stans at 17.75 KMPL.

The second engine on offer is a 1.0L TSI engine that churns out 110 PS and 175 Nm of maximum torque. This turbocharged engine feels extremely refined and powerful and comes mated to a 6-Speed MT or a 6-Speed AT. The ARAI claimed mileage of this engine is rated at 18.24 KMPL for the manual variant.

Looks and Design

The VW Polo gets an elegant and classy looking design and looks extremely attractive. The overall design, which remains largely similar for more than a decade now, still looks great and the car remains still looks one of the best in the segment. The build quality of the Polo is worth mentioning here and we expect the 2020 VW Polo to age really well with time.

Just like other VW cars, the new Polo gets a well built and elegant looking dashboard that gets a practical layout. While the Polo may not have modern features such as push-button start, it still gets all the necessary features and other connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The seats at the front and at the rear are comfortable and supportive but it is worth noting the fact that the overall space in the rear seat is poor.
