At the end of the event, Audi India teased their next offering in our market and stated the launch is imminent. The car in question is the 2020 Audi S5 Sportback which got a facelift in the global markets recently. Audi is expected to launch the S5 Sportback in India near this Diwali.

We had the Audi S5 Sportback and Cabriolet range on sale before the BS6 norms came. But afterwards, Audi India discontinued all its model range in India and now we are getting new car launches every month. The Audi S5 Sportback is a performance model of the A5 Sportback but it sits below the RS5. In India, we also had the RS5 Coupe on sale but that too was discontinued. The new A5 Sportback and got a refresh last year with newly designed lights along with tweaked interiors.

The teaser image, although doesn't reveal much, confirms it to be the S5 Sportback sold in the USA. The car gets a single-frame grille with honeycomb mesh, flanked by the LED headlights. The lower part of the bumper gets deeper air intakes and vertically-placed fog lamps. The side profile sees a sloping roofline and 19-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. The rear of the Audi S5 Sportback gets sleek LED taillights with a distinct pattern in them whereas the lower bumper gets quad exhaust pipes.

Moving to the interiors of the Audi S5 Sportback, they are more or less the same as before. As we told you earlier that the refreshed model came with minor enhancements and not big changes. We get horizontally-stacked touchscreen infotainment on the top of the dashboard which gets all the connectivity features. The dashboard also sees a continuous AC vent layout which we saw in the bigger Audis before. Unlike the bigger Audi models, the AC controls here are sported with tactile dials and not touchscreen display. The front seats of the S5 are sports seats whereas the steering wheel gets various controls.
