Avore Debuts With EX1, EX2 And EX2S Electric Motorcycles

A new name has entered India's electric motorcycle market. Gujarat-based Avore has made its debut with three models launched simultaneously: the EX1, EX2, and EX2S. While all three motorcycles look nearly identical, the real differences lie beneath the bodywork. The entry-level EX1 is priced at Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-showroom) and offers a claimed range of 160 km. So, what do the higher-spec EX2 and EX2S bring to the table? Let's find out below.

Battery and Range

Avore's spread here comes down to two battery sizes. The EX1 carries the smaller 3.24kWh pack, good for a claimed 160km on the IDC cycle. That works out to roughly 49km for every kWh, a figure worth keeping in mind when comparing it against the other two.

Step up to the EX2 or EX2S, and you get a 5kWh pack instead, an increase of nearly 55 percent over the EX1's battery. The extra capacity lifts range noticeably: 255km for the EX2, and 260km for the EX2S. Both work out closer to 51km per kWh, a touch more efficient than the EX1 despite carrying more weight in the battery itself.

Interestingly, the EX2S manages a higher range than the EX2 despite sharing the same 5kWh pack. That 5km gap likely comes down to tuning elsewhere in the motor and controller rather than the battery, since capacity alone doesn't explain it. It's also worth noting that all three range figures are IDC claims, so real-world numbers will depend on riding style, load and terrain, as is typically the case with claimed electric vehicle range.

Performance and features

Top speed follows the same pattern in part, but not entirely. Both the EX1 and EX2 cap out at 100kph. The EX2S breaks from that ceiling, reaching 114kph, which makes it the quickest of the three.

Riding modes tell a similar story of the EX2S pulling ahead. The EX1 and EX2 each offer three, while the EX2S adds two more for a total of five. It's also the only bike here with a 7-inch touchscreen; the other two miss out on that.

Charging

Avore has revealed one charging figure so far. On the EX2, a standard 15A household socket can take the battery from 20 to 80 percent in roughly two hours. Charging times for the EX1 and EX2S are still under wraps.

Pricing and bookings

Here's how the three stack up on price:

  • EX1: Rs 1.23 lakh
  • EX2: Rs 1.46 lakh
  • EX2S: Rs 1.70 lakh

Bookings are live already, secured with a Rs 799 token. Avore is yet to confirm when deliveries will begin, and details like kerb weight, seat height and suspension setup remain unconfirmed too. Expect more clarity in coming days.
