Honda ADV160 Launched In India At Rs 1.70 Lakh: India's First Flex-Fuel Scooter

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the ADV160 in India at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). It is the first product to reach the market from HMSI's 10-product portfolio, which the brand showcased on July 24, 2026. The ADV160 also becomes India's first flex-fuel scooter, running on fuel blends up to E85. Also, this is the first maxi-scooter from the Japanese manfacturer for India.

Honda ADV160 Price And Availability

The Honda ADV160 costs Rs 1,70,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Bookings are open for Rs 5,000 through the HMSI website or at Honda RedWing and BigWing dealerships. Honda will start deliveries from mid-October 2026.

Honda ADV160 Engine And Flex-Fuel Technology

The ADV160 uses a 156.93cc liquid-cooled engine built on Honda's FlexTech platform. This lets it run on petrol as well as fuel blends up to E85, which contains 85 percent ethanol. It is the first scooter in India to offer this level of fuel flexibility, positioning it under HMSI's wider multi-pathway mobility strategy.

India currently mandates E20 petrol as standard. If the country moves to E30 or E40 blends in the future, the ADV160's FlexTech engine should handle the switch without issues. The engine makes 16.22 PS and 14.9 Nm of torque.

The ADV160 carries adventure-scooter styling and comes packed with practical features:

• Disc brakes on both wheels with single-channel ABS

Honda ADV160 Rival: Hero Xoom 160

In India, the Honda ADV160 goes up against the Hero Xoom 160, which sits in the same adventure-scooter space. It also targets buyers who want SUV-inspired styling with scooter convenience, so the two will compete directly on price, features and storage space once Honda's model reaches dealerships.

On paper, Honda holds an edge on two fronts. Hero's offering makes 14.81 PS and 14 Nm of torque, lower than 16.22 PS and 14.9 Nm on the Honda. The former is also E20-compatible only, while the latter runs on fuel blends up to E85. That said, the Hero Xoom 160 is priced at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom), where it has an direct edge, as Honda's scooter costs Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), and this can create a huge difference.
