The Honda Dio is a good looking scooter. It comes with an aggressive design and has a sharp-looking character that gives it a sporty stance. The Dio comes with a sporty touch in terms of design and has a dynamic appearance. The scooter has sharper contours across the body that make it look pretty stylish. It is available in two different variants- standard and deluxe. It also comes in a choice of different vibrant colour schemes.
The standard variant comes in three different paint schemes- a Mat Axis Grey Metallic, Sports Red and Vibrant orange, whereas the deluxe variant comes in four different paint schemes- Mat Sangria red metallic, Mat Axis Grey Metallic, Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Mat Marvel Blue Metallic.

The Honda Dio is powered by a BS6-compliant 109.51cc fan-cooled, 4 Stroke, SI engine that is mated to a clutch-type automatic transmission. The motor churns out a power of 7.65 bhp and a torque of 9 Nm. The motor provides great initial pick-up and offers decent performance for city commutes. However, like every other 110cc scooter in its segment, the Dio does not offer a great top-end performance. That said, the engine does attain a top speed of around 83 kmph but it takes a lot of time to reach there from the 70 kmph mark. Also, the high-speed stability of the vehicle is poor.
The BS6 motor is also refined to a point where the note of the engine cannot be heard at idle.There is minimal vibration on the footpeg, floorboard and handle but the scooter does feel a bit rough while riding at low speeds. However, the ride quality becomes much better as the speed increases.
The Dio has a sensor-based PGM-FI system that maintains optimum fuel-air ratio. This helps the vehicle deliver efficient combustion, which results in consistent power output and more mileage. Thanks to the PGM-FI system, the Dio is now a fuel-efficient scooter that offers 48-53 kmpl of mileage in real-world riding conditions.

The Honda Dio is based on a high rigidity underbone type frame. The suspension duties on the scooter are performed by a telescopic fork at the front and a 3-step adjustable type spring-loaded hydraulic suspension at the rear. As for the brakes, the Dio comes equipped with Drum brakes of the size 130 mm on the front and the rear.
