In a piece of recent information gathered on the Mahindra-Ford Venture, Ford is planning to bring a Marazzo based MPV soon in the Indian market and it will use the tried and tested 2.2L mHawk diesel engine from Mahindra.

This MPV will share its platform with the Marazzo but will definitely carry a stronger heart when it'll be launched. Yes, Ford is directly pitching this MPV with the popular Toyota Innova Crysta, at least performance-wise. This MPV from Ford will carry a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine from Mahindra.

While there is no information as to how the MPV will look visually but sources reveal that Ford will continue with its family design and ditch the one Marazzo carries over. It is safe to say that it will come with bigger alloy wheels and features on the inside.
Ford also plans to bring in Ford Sync infotainment system and will come in multiple seating configurations just like we've seen in the Marazzo. The power figures might stick the same like new Thar which is 130 PS with 300 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed manual shift is something we are expecting with the new MPV.
This joint venture also brings in support for the Ford to enter into the mid-size SUV segment next year. It is based on the XUV500 and while Mahindra plans to launch the updated SUV in Q1, Ford will follow it in the second half of 2021.

In other news, Ford will continue to retain the 1.5L turbocharged diesel and 1.5L petrol engine but might bring in a more powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine later. Yes, since they have discontinued the 1.0L EcoBoost engine, Ford might share the mStallion engine with the XUV300.
This mStallion engine was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo by Mahindra and will be brought in XUV300 soon. This is the most powerful turbocharged petrol unit which makes as much as 130 PS on tap. It will rival with the likes of both Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
