
As per the recent images released by Toyota, it is believed that the Japanese carmaker is working on developing a new e-SUV. This upcoming Toyota e-SUV will ve the brand's first model to be based on the e-TNGA platform which was recently developed by Toyota and Subaru. While the brand has not named this vehicle yet, it is said that this SUV will be tailored to fit the European car market requirements and will be produced in Toyota's zero-emissions factory in Japan.

With the size and outer dimensions similar to that of the RAV4, this new e-SUV will be the first of the six new electric vehicles that will be underpinned by the new e-TNGA platform which happens to be the latest dedicated EV platform designed by the brand. Speaking about the car, Toyota's European product development boss, Mr Andrea Carlucci said that this new e-SUV will be very European in DNA and Design. He further added that more models will be developed and launched for the European market.

For those who are unfamiliar to the new Toyota e-TNGA platform, let me tell you that this new platform has been co-developed by Toyota and Subaru and is designed specifically for electric vehicles. Furthermore, this new platform is highly modular and adaptable which makes it practical enough to be used for vehicles of differing dimensions. Other vehicles to be based on this platform include a new compact SUV, a large SUV, a crossover, a sedan and an MPV. With that being said, the brand plans to sell more than 55 lakh electrified cars per year by 2025 which will include hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and hydrogen fuel cell models.

In India, the brand currently sells the new Glanza, Urban Cruise, Innova, Fortuner and a few more vehicles will it soon plans to launch the new facelifted Fortuner. Recent reports also confirmed that Toyota is developing a new SUV (Check More Details Here) with Maruti Suzuki that will be pitted against the likes of the Creta and the Kia Seltos. For those wondering, there is no significant information about the launch of this new e-SUV in the Indian market.
