A Vespa has always been a style statement, and thanks to the new GST regime, prices of these scooters have come down by a considerable margin. The range consists of both 125cc and 150cc scooters, which were updated earlier last year.

Vespa Scooters Now More Affordable; Details

The Vespa range is divided into two main versions; the base Vespa and the Tech trim. The base begins from the ZX variant, which begins from Rs 1.10 lakh. The 125 and the 125 S range between Rs 1.22 lakh to Rs 1.28 lakh, while the Tech 125 and the Qala Edition are both priced at Rs 1.77 lakh. Rounding things off in the 125cc category is the S Tech 125, priced at Rs 1.81 lakh.
Meanwhile, the 150cc category begins with the base 149 at Rs 1.36 lakh. The dual-tone 149 and the 149 S can be had for Rs 1.38 lakh, and the S 149 dual-tone comes in at Rs 1.40 lakh. The Tech 149 and the Tech 149 Qala are both priced at Rs 1.90 lakh, and lastly the S Tech 149 is priced at Rs 1.94 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Both the 125 and the 150 remain unchanged mechanically. The 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine produces 9.3bhp at 7100rpm and 10.1Nm of torque. The 150cc powertrain was updated earlier this year, producing a marginally higher output than before; 11.2bhp at 7500rpm and 11.66Nm of torque.
Verdict
The revised pricing makes the Vespa range of scooters far more accessible than before, and while the lower variants are still not as well-equipped as they should be, there is no denying the fact that a Vespa is always a style icon.
