Royal Enfield Hunter 350
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 recently launched the new Factory Custom Workshop which offers several modifications and customisations to make your motorcycle the only one on the roads. However, the Hunter 350 is lighter than other motorcycles of the brand, so we can’t consider it lighter and super easy to control. The RE Hunter 350 is available in two variants and eight colour options- the Dapper Green for the Metro trim is my personal favourite. The Hunter 350 is powered by the same 349cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that powers other 350cc RE motorcycles. In terms of features, the Hunter 350 gets basic features such as a dual-channel ABS (Metro trim), digital inset for fuel gauge, optional tripper navigation pod and much more.

DIGI-ANALOG CLUSTERThe Hunter pays homage to the analogue era while seamlessly integrating modern features for contemporary riding. It sports a retro-style speedometer paired with a digital LCD screen that provides comprehensive information. Additionally, the motorcycle is compatible with the Royal Enfield Tripper Navigation System, enhancing its navigational capabilities.
- USB CHARGING
Hunter 350 comes with a USB charging port for all your charging need on the go. This makes for an extremely useful addition in times when you are hooked to electronics all the time when you are out on the roads
- TRIPPER NAVIGATION
The Digi-Analogue cluster additionally supports the Royal Enfield Tripper Navigation system that displays turn-by-turn direction on the mini circular display on the right-hand side of the bigger display.
- ALL DISC BRAKES
On the Hunter 350, braking duties are efficiently handled by a twin-pot caliper that bites down on a 300mm disc at the front. At the rear, a single-piston unit clamps down upon a 240mm disc.
- RETRO-INSPIRED SWITCH CUBES
The Hunter 350 keeps the retro-inspired styling cues and incorporates a rotatory switch for the start and stop functionality.
- DUAL CHANNEL ABS
The Hunter is equipped with an anti-lock braking system featuring 300mm front and 270mm rear discs. This braking system ensures a secure and rapid stop, even in the shortest of distances, enhancing safety during rides.
- TELESCOPIC FORK FRONT AND 6-STEP PRELOAD ADJUSTABLE REAR SUSPENSION
The Hunter manages suspension duties effectively with a 41mm telescopic fork at the front, providing 130mm of travel. At the rear, the motorcycle is equipped with 6-step preload-adjustable twin emulsion shock absorbers, offering 102mm of travel.

Variant Recommendation
Royal Enfield offers the Hunter in three different variants: Retro Factory, Metro Dapper, and Metro Rebel. The retro version has spoke rims with tube-type tyres and a rear drum brake. The Metro variants come with alloy wheels, tubeless tires, and a rear disc brake. We recommend buying the Metro variants due to the alloy wheels and better colour options. Also, the top model offers an LED taillight that helps it look even better on the road.

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a very well-built and sorted city motorcycle. Its design is modern, its engine performance is very tractable, and the big service network of Royal Enfield is an assurance in itself. The only downside of this complete package is the stiff rear suspension and lack of features.

Should I buy the Hunter 350?
The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the latest entrant in the 350cc lineup of the company. It has a new design that we’ve never seen on any Royal Enfield before. It looks retro as well as modern. Also, the quality, fit, & finish of the bike is very good. Its small size and less weight make it an easy-handling bike inside the city. Also, its engine has very good low-end torque that makes it even easier to ride. But, with a stiff rear suspension & less features, it might not appeal to everyone. We recommend it to those who want the torquey engine performance of Royal Enfield but with a fresh & youthful design.
- The Hunter 350 has a different design than the rest of the bikes from Royal Enfield. It looks beautiful & proportionate from every angle. Also, the modern roadster layout is youthful & attractive to young buyers who don’t want a retro bike. But, the size of the bike is small. The front profile has good road presence but it might look as big from the rear as it looks from the front. Overall, we liked its design along with good build quality & paint quality.
- In terms of features, it is barren if compared with rivals like TVS Ronin. There’s only a handful of things on offer. It gets the semi-digital instrument console from the Meteor 350 that has no Bluetooth connectivity and no GPS either. Also, there’s a small USB phone charger underneath this console. It doesn’t even get LED lights or LED indicators. The top variant comes with an LED taillight.

- The seating comfort on the Hunter 350 is positive and good. Due to the low seat height, the bike feels in control, irrespective of the height of the rider. Also, the cushioning of the seats is done well, offering comfort for long hours. The wide seat gives ample space for the pillion to sit comfortably.
- The handlebar is positioned towards the rider, and the footpegs are positioned in the middle, thus giving the rider a comfortable riding posture. The ergonomics and riding comfort on the Hunter 350 are well suited for city commutes as well as occasional long rides.
- The 350-cc J-series engine from Royal Enfield is one of the most refined 350-cc engines on the market. It is air-cooled and has very good low-end performance. It offers a very torquey riding experience inside the city, and you need not shift gears inside the traffic to remain in the powerband. Also, it can easily cruise at 80 kmph all day long, thus making it enjoyable for long rides as well. The short gear ratios help in churning loads of torque, which makes it easy to ride in hilly areas with a pillion. The heating is also well controlled, and it doesn’t heat up even in bad traffic.
- The WMTC-claimed fuel economy of the Hunter 350 is 36.22 kmpl. But if ridden sedately, it can deliver more than 40 kmpl on the highways. Inside the city, our users report an average fuel economy of between 28 and 32 km/h, depending on the traffic and road conditions.
- The Hunter 350 is offered with the options of dual-disc brakes and a single-disc brake. We recommend buying the double-disc brake variant due to better safety. The braking power of the double-disc version is very good. The front disc is 300 mm, and the rear is 270 mm. This combination makes it a safe bike to ride and generates a lot of confidence in the rider. The drum brake version requires planning and time to safely halt the bike in case of an emergency.
- The Hunter 350 comes with a telescopic front suspension & 6-step adjustable shockers at the rear. The front setup is comfortable & confidence-inspiring. In fact, the bad roads and cracks of the road are well absorbed by the front suspension. But, the rear suspension is the spoilsport of the party. It is too stiff, even in the most comfortable setting of it. We didn’t like it as the bike was consistently bouncing at the rear during our test. Also, the strong impacts travel from the tyre directly to the spine of the rider. A lot of customers have started modifying the rear suspension aftermarket due to this issue. It is only on a good tarmac road where you feel comfortable on the moving bike.
- Contrary to the suspension, the handling is brilliant and agile. All thanks to the short exhaust and the low centre of gravity, the Hunter 350 is one of the easiest bikes in its segment. You can ride it all day long inside the city without worrying about manoeuvring. Filtering the city traffic is super easy and the small size of it makes it manageable in bumper-to-bumper traffic or taking it out of a congested parking lot.
