CFMoto is gearing up for a strong comeback in the Indian market with the launch of its new adventure motorcycle, the 450MT. Expected to arrive by the end of this year, the 450MT is set to be a game-changer in the mid-capacity ADV segment. The brand is partnering with an Indian distributor to ensure better market reach and after sales support. With an expected price range of Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 4.30 lakh (ex-sh), it will compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure and the soon-to-launch BMW F450GS.

Design: The CFMoto 450MT gets a rugged yet modern ADV look. A high-mounted front fender, aggressive LED headlamp unit and sleek body panels give it an imposing road presence. It features a tall stance with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup that improve superior off-road capability. The bike will be available in two striking colour options.
Ergonomics and Comfort: Designed for both touring and off-road adventures, the 450MT offers an 820mm seat height, which can be lowered to 800mm for better accessibility. An optional 870mm taller seat is also available for those needing more legroom. Wide handlebars, neutral footpeg positioning and an easily adjustable windscreen improves rider comfort.
Powertrain: The 450MT is powered by a 449cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crankshaft, delivering 44bhp at 8,500rpm and 44 Nm of torque at 6,250rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a light slipper clutch. Unlike some rivals, it opts for a mechanical throttle instead of a ride-by-wire system, which could appeal to purists.
Hardware: One of the highlights of the CFMoto 450MT is its fully adjustable KYB suspension, offering 200mm of travel at both ends for enhanced ride quality. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, both with J.Juan calipers and switchable dual-channel ABS for added control.
Features: The 450MT comes equipped with a five-inch curved TFT color display featuring Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. While it lacks ride modes and cruise control, it includes practical features such as a USB charging port, foldable mirrors (a segment-first), and an adjustable windscreen. Additionally, the ability to disable traction control and rear ABS at the press of a button enhances its off-road capabilities.
Expected Launch and Market Positioning: CFMoto is expected to launch the 450MT in India around the festive season. Positioned as an affordable yet capable twin-cylinder ADV, it aims to attract adventure enthusiasts. The brand’s success will depend on competitive pricing and the establishment of a strong dealership and service network in India.
