The upcoming models will be updates and enhancements to the current lineup. While the brand has not shared exact details about the categories or specifications, it stated that the focus will remain on classic motorcycles, improving customer service and experience, and expanding its presence across the country.
The Jawa 42 remains unchanged from its update last year, having received a new engine, along with optimized gearing and other internal tweaks to the powertrain to curb vibrations. It also receives a wide range of colour schemes, but the equipment list continues to be basic, with the exception of dual-channel ABS and a digital cluster.

The Jawa Forty-Two is a roadster bike that is based on the old-school design language of Jawa. It looks cool and it is comfortable to ride as well. Loaded with the latest features like LED lights & Bluetooth connectivity, it is a modern bike. Also, its engine offers good punch in the mid-range, thus, making it a good tourer. However, the low-end performance of this engine is weak and it also heats up quickly in the city. We recommend it as an option for the Royal Enfield Bullet 350.
- The design of the Forty-Two is retrieved from the Jawa standard. The bike is based on a retro-modern theme. It has design elements that make it look retro, like the round headlight and low-slung rear. Meanwhile, the latest features include LED lights and Bluetooth. They make for a modern look. With a flat handlebar and bar-end mirrors, it looks cool on the road. Not to mention, the twin exhaust can setup is also good to look at.
- The riding comfort of the Jawa Forty-Two is moderately satisfying. The flat handlebar is tilted a bit towards the front while the rider's footpegs are set in the centre. Overall, it is comfortable for city riding but on the highway, the riding position might become tiring to ride for long hours.
- The short-stroke, liquid-cooled engine is fun to ride. It has a very rich mid-range torque & performance. Also, the engine feels eager to accelerate. But, the low-end torque is compromised and it snatches at lower rpms. Also, it requires effort of consistent shifting within the city to keep it in the powerband. The engine also heats up pretty quickly inside the traffic. However, the 6-speed gearbox is very slick and easy to use.
- The low centre of gravity and equal weight distribution make the Jawa Forty-Two a good handling bike. It is fun to ride and easy to flick inside the city traffic. On the highway, the straight-line stability is good and it’ll provoke you to go faster. Overall, it feels very easy and confident to ride.
- The suspension setup of Forty-Two is pliant and neutral. It is neither stiff nor soft. The bike remains comfortable and confident for most of the parts on the road. Bad roads are handled pretty easily by it. However, it is not a softer suspension but with a pillion, you might feel the tail getting mushy. Overall, we’re satisfied with its ride quality. It is equally good as the Bullet 350.
- In terms of braking, the Forty-Two offers a decent bite. It is not a very strong biting machine but you’ll remain confident on its brakes. The brakes behave predictably. The bike stops without any fuss, even at high speeds.
- The Forty-Two has modern tech. It has features like Bluetooth, SMS and call alerts, a digital instrument panel, and LED lights. The multi-spoke alloy wheels also look good and offer tubeless tyres.
- awa offers a dual-channel ABS as standard on the Forty-Two. The calibration of it is very well done and the bike feels safer to ride.
