1. Voice-Activated Sunroof

Starting from the Pure variant, which is the second base model, the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift offers the option of a single-pane sunroof, something its rival, the Maruti Baleno, doesn't provide in any trim. What sets it apart further is the inclusion of voice assist, letting users control the sunroof hands-free with simple voice commands. However, it's important to note that this is an optional feature and not part of the standard equipment list. If this is a must-have for you, then you don't need to go for the top-spec just for getting a sunroof, which is a pretty good shot.
2. Digital Driver's Display
Altroz facelift now comes with a digital drivers display, which makes the cabin experience even more high-tech than ever, combined with a bigger touchscreen system and an illuminated steering wheel. Coming back to the instrument cluster, it also gets navigation display and a blind spot monitor system that uplifts the functionality for the driver side of things.
3. Bigger Infotainment Screen
The updated Altroz boasts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity. Meanwhile, the Maruti Baleno features a slightly more compact 9-inch display, though it retains the same wireless integration. It's worth noting that in the facelifted Altroz, the larger 10.25-inch screen is available from the mid-spec Creative variant, whereas the lower trims come fitted with a 7-inch unit which is also what Baleno gets in trims other than Alpha.
4. Flush Door Handles
The flush door handles are straight decendents from the Curvv model and is also a segment-first which adds to a more premium appeal of the Tata Altroz facelift. This feature is something that makes the door panels look cleaner while adding that modern flair to the vehicle. Baleno gets the typical pull-type door handles, which is what the other hatchbacks in the segment offer.
5. Ambient Lighting
While this is more a feel-good feature rather than a functional one, but is one of those things that I personally like. It elevates your night time driving feel to a whole new level and makes the cabin feel more engaging and lively. Although you might have a different opinion, but if you are going for models from Creative onwards, you will get this feature bundled-up.
6. Air Purifier
The 2025 Tata Altroz now includes an in-cabin air purifier, a feature not available on the Maruti Baleno. Given the rising concerns around air quality in urban areas, particularly in regions like Delhi NCR, this addition makes a strong case for itself. It helps maintain cleaner, healthier air inside the car, making daily commutes more comfortable and safer, especially in pollution-prone environments.
7. Wireless Charger
Another convenience feature that takes away the tangled wires is the wireless phone charger which now sits at the centre console, making it easier for you to charge it without much hassle.
8. 6 Airbags As Standard
A very crucial safety feature that the Tata's hatch get are the six airbags as standard, right from its base-spec Smart variant. Although Maruti is working on making its entire portfolio equipped with 6 airbags as standard, the lower trims of the Baleno still offer a dual airbag set-up, which is a big miss.
9. Connected Tail Lamps
The connected tail lamps make their debut on the Altroz facelift leaving the Baleno with discreet units at both ends. Another nifty lil addition that is taking over the new models across manufacturers. Although this is now a bit more common, taking away its wow-factor that it once had. But for me, I like that extra illumination at night just for the looks of it!
10. Rain Sensing Wipers
Rain sensing wipers are just another addition that the Altroz facelift offers over the Baleno, which automatically turns on when it senses water pouring down. This is one of those features that doesn't really make a difference in real life where you can manually engage the wipers with just a tap of your finger right across the steering wheel. But this surely ups the modern suit to a new level.
11. 8 Speaker Set-Up
After offering a bigger infotainment screen than the Baleno, the Altroz facelift offers a more premium sound experience with an 8-speaker set-up of 4 speakers and 4 tweets. On the other hand, the Baleno also offers a pretty good a 4+2 set-up for the audiophiles.
12. Cooled Glovebox
Another functional bit that the Altroz offers over the Baleno is the cooled glove box that keeps your drinks and water cold in the scorching summer heat.
Verdict
The Tata Altroz facelift has turned the tables for what was once looked like towards the end of the road. The move to re-ignite the premium hathcback segement and with all that it now offers is a bold move. Can this make buyers pull away from the pseudo compact SUVs and opt for a proper premium hathback? Looks like a far fteched dream with what the sales charts show, but it is a pretty good attempt at facilitating that shift.
