Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ
Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Sporteq, a new series sitting above the standard BE 6. It gets multiple battery packs and charging options, plus Battery-as-a-Service on two variants, making it good for daily commutes up to 60 km. What's more interesting is the tech push: a three-screen cockpit, six new tech suites, and an AI based voice assistant that handles 100+ functions across 48 apps. Two variants stand out; the Graphite Storm Launch Edition and the Formula E-inspired Freedom Edition, which gets its own two-screen halo cockpit and a quicker 0-100kmph Acceleration Boost mode. The Sporteq's whole pitch is around cabin tech, personalisation, and software as the mechanicals are the same.

Pros & Cons of BE 6 SPORTEQ
What we admire in this car
548 km, 651km and 683 km range per charge: long range ensure hassle free long distance travel.
360 camera giving live view with intrusion alerts, along with cross-platform Digital Car Key support for smart phones, adds genuine security value.
New addition of colours across line up from exterior to interior.
The Battery-as-a-Service option brings the entry price down to Rs 11.45 lakh, considerably widening access to the range.
Up to 140 kW, 160 kW and 180 kW fast charging, reduces time making it convenient for urban commutes and road trips.
Impressive Performance: Accelerates 0-100 kmph in 6.44 seconds
What could have been better
None of the powertrain, battery or range figures change over the standard BE 6, so the price premium is entirely about cabin, software and trim upgrades.
Smaller Boot Space: Limited luggage capacity might inconvenience families or frequent travelers.
Eight variants across two battery-ownership models, plus two special editions, make the line-up considerably more complex to choose from.
The Freedom Edition's two-screen halo cockpit is a step down in screen count from the rest of the Sporteq range, which may not suit buyers wanting the full three-screen experience alongside its performance focus.
Should I buy the BE 6 SPORTEQ?
The BE 6 Sporteq is worth considering if you want the most tech-forward, connected version of the BE 6 and will genuinely use its AI, personalisation and entertainment features. The Freedom Edition suits buyers chasing a sportier, more engaging drive, while the BaaS option makes sense for those wanting a lower upfront cost with a predictable per-km battery charge. If none of this matters to you and you just want the BE 6's performance and range, the standard variants remain the simpler, lower-cost choice.
- The BE 6 Sporteq keeps the standard car's coupe-SUV silhouette, with the real design story playing out through colour and variant-specific detailing rather than a structural redesign.
- The range is offered in 12 colour options, including four new shades: Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin.
- It gets C-shaped LED headlights that add to the futuristic look, and there's an air duct between the lights that helps with aerodynamic efficiency.
- The BE 6 sporteq is longer and wider than the Curvv.ev, but not taller, and that's despite riding on 20-inch aero alloy wheels with around 200mm of ground clearance.
- The tail-lights also get a sleek C-shaped treatment, there's a diffuser for added sportiness, and the sharply-raked roofline at the rear might hurt visibility.
BE 6 SPORTEQ body specifications:
| Seating Capacity | 5 seaters |
| Ground Clearance | 207 mm |
| Boot Space | 455 liters |

- The Sporteq's biggest change is inside the cabin, where a three-screen coast-to-coast cockpit becomes standard from the TWO variant upward.
- The Freedom Edition instead gets the original race-inspired two-screen cockpit with the signature halo design, paired with an exclusive Black and Firestorm Orange cabin theme.
- New technology suites, all powered by Mahindra's MAIA AI architecture, add substantial functional depth across the range: AI based voice assistance, TEQ_Play for karaoke and in-car gaming, TEQ_Drive for performance and driving modes, TEQ_Me for automatic driver profiles, TEQ_Secure for monitoring and digital key access, and TEQ_xting for personalised tailgate messaging.
- TEQ_Talk alone supports over 100 core functions and 48 apps through 17 specialised AI agents, covering vehicle controls, navigation, music and news.
- TEQ_Drive adds Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive and Revive & Revive SOS across the range, with an Acceleration Boost mode exclusive to the Formula E Freedom Edition.
- Mahindra says all these features will reach existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners through phased OTA updates starting January 2027, though the exact feature set will vary by model and variant.
BE 6 SPORTEQ features:
| TPMS | Yes |
| Wireless Charger | Yes - Front |
| Ventilated Seats | Front Row |
- Powertrain and range figures are unchanged from the standard BE 6, so the Sporteq's premium is not tied to any gain in performance or range.
- The BE 6 Sporteq has three battery pack options: a 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh unit. It is also powered by a single electric motor on the rear axle, effectively making it a rear-wheel drive car.
- The 59kWh battery makes 170kW. The 70kWh battery makes 180kW. The 79kWh battery makes 210kW. Torque stays the same at 380Nm across all versions. Mahindra claims a 0-100kmph time of 6.44 seconds for the latter variant.
- The 59kWh variant claims to cover ‘over 548km’ on a single charge, while the larger, 79kWh battery pack gets an MIDC-claimed range of 683km. A 20 to 80% charge in just 20 minutes is possible via a 140-180kW DC fast charger.
- A new Battery-as-a-Service option brings the entry price down to Rs 11.45 lakh, with the battery charged separately at Rs 3.75 per km, based on 60km of daily usage.
