Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 Detailed Review
- This is the second generation of the AMG GT, launched internationally in 2024 but we have received it now. In 2014, it was introduced first and was the second sports car developed completely by AMG. The overall shape is similar, featuring more carbon fiber and a giant grille that looks perfect for the massive Mercedes logo.
- The front end appears bolder and full of character, and there is a hint of Mercedes’ iconic car from the 1950s, the 300 SL, present in its design. That said, a lot of tech has been used here - in the air vents, electronically operated spoiler, and rear diffusers.
- This GT 63 Pro wears 21-inch AMG forged wheels with carbon-ceramic brakes, finished in matte grey paint. Tyre profile: 295/30 R21 at the front and 305/30 R21 at the rear.
- While the GT 63 has AMG 10-spoke light alloy wheels that accentuate the vehicle’s presence.
- Talking about rear profile, quad core exhaust, rear diffuser, vents, and newly designed LED tail-lights in black chrome, looks stupendous. Moreover, the GT 63 Pro has a fixed spoiler, carbon fiber accents.
- Overall, this looks more premium than the previous generation, with subtle updates that subtly influence your subconscious perception of luxury. Lastly, the car is available in a range of striking colour options - Sun Yellow Solid, High-Tech Silver, Spectral Blue, and Obsidian Black — along with exclusive Manufaktur finishes such as Patagonia Red Bright, Opalith White Bright, and Alpine Grey Solid.
AMG GT 63 body specifications:
- The interior will remind you of two things - first, its hefty price tag, and second, that this isn’t an ordinary car. The AC vents, shaped like a turbine of an airplane with ambient lights, look ecstatic and super unique.
- It's a perfect concoction of luxury and functionality, with leather, Alcantara, carbon fiber, and large screens present.
- For the first time ever, the GT gets a 4-seat configuration in the base trim, available as an option. With the 2+2 seating configuration, the boot space remains 321 L, but after folding down the second-row seats, it expands to 675 L. An important thing to note is that this flexibility is only available with the 2+2 seating setup, not with the regular 2-seat AMG configuration.
- A driver focused digital cockpit with 12.3 Inch digital instrument cluster, 11.9 Inch vertical touchscreen infotainment, steering wheel with touch control buttons, and ventilated seats with memory function.
- The infotainment touchscreen features AMG Track Pack, which provides you all the details of lap time, and acts as a race engineer.
- A handbuilt 4.0L twin-turbo V8 is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. Talking about figures - in the first variant, the AMG 63 - power is 585 hp and torque is 800 Nm. According to Mercedes, it will do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and its top speed is 312 km/h.
- The second variant - GT 63 Pro with the same engine features more power - 612 hp and 850 Nm of torque, and its top speed is 317 km/h. As this is a more track focused variant, hence all this tuning of the engine.
- Other details include AMG Active Ride Control, in which the vehicle doesn’t lose stability at high speeds, plus body roll isn’t felt while taking sharp turns, as this car uses an active hydraulic system. Moreover, this car is incorporated with 4-wheel steering and a rear limited-slip differential.
