Renault Duster 2019-20

The Renault Duster is now available in a BS6 avatar but that means they
have ditched the good old diesel motor as well as the CVT automatic with the petrol engine. The new BS6 Duster is only available with the same 1.5-litre petrol and prices have gone up by 40-50k. It still remains a very good value deal, considering it is as expensive as the smaller sub 4m SUVs but offers far more space and a higher street presence.
The Duster retains its ride quality and is definitely one of the best SUVs when it comes to driving on bad roads. High speed manners also remain as good as ever. However, the 1.5 petrol can be thirsty and getting over 10 kmpl in city runs can be a task. Likewise, the cabin feels dated in the company of modern day rivals. This includes the old design and lack of features. That said, there is ample space for 5 adults and you get a huge boot as well. Buy the Duster after thinking twice - it feels good value initially but selling it off at a reasonable price will be a task. Plus, the petrol cannot match upto the torque and efficiency of the older 1.5 dCi motor. We do miss the AWD and AMT too. Sigh!
