The main difference is drivetrain: the Legender 4x4 AT gets four-wheel drive for better traction off-road or on loose/slippery surfaces, while the 4x2 AT is rear-wheel drive and is the better fit if your driving is mostly city and highway. spec sheet of Toyota also shows the 4x4 version is heavier,
