Nissan India has finally launched its much-awaited mid-size SUV, the Tekton. It's the third SUV in the brand's India lineup. The Tekton is based on the same platform as the Renault Duster, but it gets a distinctive, more premium design. Nissan says the styling draws inspiration from the Patrol, its iconic and rugged global SUV.
That inspiration shows up in both the exterior and interior. The feature list, though, stays largely the same as the Duster's. And that's not a bad thing, because there's plenty on offer. Let's look at the top key features of the new Tekton.
Nissan Tekton Key Features
Level 2 ADAS

Let's begin with the safety features of the Tekton. The good news: it comes with a Level-2 ADAS suite packed with 17 features, including Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and more. The basic safety kit is covered too, with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear disc brakes, and front and rear parking sensors.
On top of this, the Tekton has scored a full 5-star rating at Bharat NCAP crash tests, for both adult and child occupant protection. That makes it one of the safer options in its segment.
Variant: Level-2 ADAS is available from the top variant, the Tekna, which starts at Rs 15.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Opt for the Tekna+ and you get two more ADAS features: adaptive cruise control and a 3D intelligent view monitor.
Rivals With Same Features: Almost all its rivals, except the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun, come equipped with Level-2 ADAS. That said, the most ADAS features are available on the Kia Seltos, with 21 in total.
10.1 Inch Infotainment Screen

The infotainment touchscreen is high-definition and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with built-in Google that comes with its own embedded internet connectivity. This means drivers get live navigation without needing to tether their phone. The system also gets over-the-air software updates and access to the Google Play Store, opening up more than 200 apps for navigation, music, and entertainment.
It also comes with 5-profile connectivity, so multiple people can drive the car and each get their own individual driving profile. Dual-zone AC controls are on board too.
The screen size is optimal by modern standards, and the interface is sleek and easy to navigate. The driver display is a separate 10.25-inch unit with an immersive Google Maps view, so the driver doesn't need to glance sideways and get distracted from the road.
Variant: The 10.1-inch infotainment screen starts from the N-Connecta variant, priced at Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom). However, for built-in Google and OTA updates, customers will have to step up to the top-spec Tekna+.
Rivals With Same Feature: The Tata Sierra offers a triple-screen layout, consisting of a 12.3-inch and a 10.3-inch display for the driver. The new Kia Seltos also gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Both offer larger screens, but neither comes with Google built-in.
Panoramic Sunroof

The panoramic sunroof, a favourite among Indian buyers, comes with anti-pinch protection and one-touch control. It's one of the most in-demand features in modern cars and has a big impact on buying decisions. Unlike a single-pane roof, the Tekton gets a large panoramic unit that spans the cabin.
As an accessory, customers can also add Skylounge lights to the sunroof, which look great in dark environments, as seen in the photo. The sunroof can also be controlled using a smart card.
Variant: Available from the N-Connecta variant, priced at Rs 13.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
Rivals With Same Features: Every car in the mid-size SUV segment comes with this feature.
Front Powered Seats

Comfort takes centre stage up front, with an Active Comfort Seat setup for both occupants. It's powered, ventilated, and offers lumbar adjustment, with a body-contoured design and an adjustable boomerang-profile headrest for added support on long drives.
Both front seats get 6-way electric adjustment, and the driver's seat alone gets the same 6-way powered movement for a quick, precise setup. There's also 2-way manual lumbar support on both front seats.
Variant: This feature starts from the Tekna variant, priced at Rs 15.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
Rivals With Same Feature: Volkswagen and Skoda cars offer 6-way powered adjustable seats but skip lumbar support. Several rivals, including the Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Hyundai Creta, offer power adjustment only for the driver's seat. Only the Sierra goes a step further, with memory function and a thigh support extender. On that front, the Tekton holds an edge over most of the segment.
Powered Tailgate

Loading and unloading gets a lot easier with the powered tailgate, a premium touch not every rival in this segment offers. It can be opened and closed with the touch of a button, and this can also be done via the key.
Boot space stands at 518 litres up to the parcel tray, and expands to a generous 700 litres when measured up to the roof. That makes it one of the most practical options in the segment for weekend trips and everyday errands alike.
Variant: Only available on the top-spec Tekna+ variant, priced at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Rivals: Barring a few exceptions, most rivals including the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and Maruti Grand Vitara don't offer this feature. That makes the powered boot a genuinely premium touch, and one that gives the Tekton a real edge in this department.
3D Intelligent Around View Monitor

The Tekton gets Nissan's 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor, a system that stitches together feeds from four wide-angle cameras (front, rear, and both sides) into a single bird's-eye view of the car and its surroundings. This makes it far easier to judge distances during tight parking, narrow lane manoeuvres, or navigating congested city streets.
The system also gets Moving Object Detection. If a pedestrian, cyclist, or vehicle moves into the camera's range while parking or manoeuvring, the system flags it with an on-screen warning and an audible chime, adding a useful safety net in blind spots the driver might miss. Drivers can also switch between individual camera views, front, rear, or side, depending on the manoeuvre.
Variant: Confirmed on the top-spec Tekna+ variant, priced at Rs 16.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Rivals With Same Feature: A 360-degree camera is fairly common in this segment now, with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, and Maruti Grand Vitara all offering it on their higher variants. This one doesn't give the Tekton a standout edge, but it does keep the SUV on par with the segment's best.
My Nissan App Connectivity

Control of the SUV extends well beyond the driver's seat, with 55+ connected features available via the MyNISSAN App. Key functions include Remote Lock/Unlock, Remote Engine Start/Stop with AC, Remote Horn & Lights, Remote Vehicle Status, Find My Car, Remind Me Alerts, and Route My Car.
This means owners can pre-cool or heat the cabin before getting in, track the car's live location, get maintenance and service reminders, and even locate the car in a crowded parking lot using the horn and lights, all from a smartphone.
Variant: Full 55+ feature connectivity, along with Google built-in, is confirmed on the top-spec Tekna+ variant. Basic MyNISSAN App connectivity is available from the N-Connecta variant onwards.
Rivals With Same Feature: Connected car tech is now standard across the segment. Hyundai's Bluelink on the Creta offers 50+ features, Kia's UVO on the Seltos offers a similar suite, and Tata's iRA on the Sierra covers much of the same ground. The Tekton doesn't stand out here, but it keeps pace with what buyers already expect at this price point
Other Notable Features of Nissan Tekton:
- 48 colour ambient lights
- Paddle shifters (DCT Only)
- Remote SmartCard window & sunroof control
- Smart air purifier
- Wireless charger
- 2 Drive modes
Final Word
The Nissan Tekton has it all to become a new hot-seller in the segment. Features that attract buyers and make for a rich ownership experience are in abundance here. The only catch is that rivals have really upped the game with triple-screen layouts, head-up displays, and even AWD drivetrains. So if you want something more exceptional, there are other options out there. But the built-in Google is a genuine game-changer, one that transforms how the screen is used and makes the Tekton stand out. The rest of the package is a well-stacked features list, and one that makes us want to recommend this car to a lot of people.
