These include a new 8-speed torque converter for the 1.0L engine and an updated AC compressor. That said, here we'll focus on how it looks. So, without further ado, let's begin. Skoda Kushaq Facelift

Under the skin, it remains unchanged, continuing to be built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, and is offered with two engine options - a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI EVO. While the core design remains familiar, it now looks richer and more distinctive, drawing some inspiration from its newer sibling, the Skoda Kylaq.

The front gets a redesigned grille with an illuminated light band, creating a connected DRL-like signature that feels more advanced and tastefully executed - very much in line with Skoda's "Simply Clever" philosophy. The headlamp design has also been updated, along with a revised placement for the LED fog lamps. Additionally, the inclusion of front parking sensors is a practical new feature that enhances everyday usability.

Moving to the side profile, the new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels look handsome and suit the car well. Additionally, the top-spec Monte Carlo edition now gets red brake calipers, which add a sportier touch. Apart from this, there are no major changes, and it continues to feature functional roof rails. At the rear, the design looks the most impressive. The connected tail-lights with Skoda lettering stand out, while the all-new lighting signature is sleek and distinctive. This setup gives the rear profile a wider stance and, from a distance, even hints at a BMW X1-like presence with its aggressive flair.

Overall, this feels like a proper facelift, with a refreshed design, smart updates, and an enhanced overall appeal for the Kushaq. Additionally, new colour options such as Shimla Green, Cherry Red, and Steel Grey have been introduced. The existing palette continues with shades like Deep Black, Lava Blue, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, and Candy White.

Interior

The interior has received some unexpected upgrades, starting with a segment-first feature - rear massaging seats, which aren't even offered in cars priced around Rs 50-60 lakh. It also now gets one of India's most sought-after features, a panoramic sunroof, along with a new 10.24-inch digital instrument cluster, shared with larger Skoda models like the Octavia RS and Kodiaq.

Additionally, the 10.25-inch infotainment system has been updated with a Google AI voice assistant for improved convenience. To top it off, Skoda has addressed the AC effectiveness issue by introducing a new variable-geometry compressor in the updated Kushaq. Earlier, it used a fixed-geometry compressor, which led to inconsistent cooling - especially while idling or at higher speeds - as reported by owners. With this update, a key concern for potential buyers has now been addressed and significantly improved.

Transmission
Lastly, with the 1.0L TSI engine, an 8-speed automatic gearbox has been introduced. This is quite a bold move, as no other manufacturer currently offers such a transmission with a small-capacity engine like this. Skoda claims that fuel efficiency has improved by 4%, while the overall driving experience has become more relaxed and comfortable. There are no major changes to the 1.5L TSI EVO, but it now gets four-wheel disc brakes, which should improve braking performance in the more powerful variant.
Verdict
The updated Skoda Kushaq feels like a well-rounded and meaningful facelift rather than just a cosmetic refresh. With smarter design tweaks, feature-loaded interiors, and crucial mechanical upgrades like the new AC compressor and improved gearbox option, it addresses key shortcomings of the earlier model.
What stands out is how Skoda has enhanced both appeal and usability without altering the core strengths of the car - its solid build, engaging drive, and strong TSI engines. If priced right, this facelifted Kushaq not only becomes more competitive but also a more complete package for buyers looking at a premium compact SUV.
