The Indian market is flooding in with the new SUVs and the popularity they have overshadowed the D-Segment sedan. Such that, only Hyundai is ruling this segment with its Elantra. However, the popular Czech carmaker, Skoda has announced that they are bringing back the 2021 Octavia in a new avatar and will launch it in April.

Sharing the mechanical details first then it will get a powerful 2.0L TSI unit under the hood. This four-cylinder, BS6 compliant turbocharged petrol will churn out as much as 190 PS of power and this unit will be paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

For those looking for a diesel motor as it slightly churns out better fuel economy then they have to invest in Elantra or any other car. Skoda strictly hints at bringing petrol model cars only post the newer BS6 emission norms which have been regulated in the country.
How Is It Different Than Before?
This fourth-gen Octavia has now grown in size as it is 19 mm longer and 15 mm wider than before. Styling-wise, it borrows some craft from the flagship Superb and also ditches the older quad headlight set-up which we have seen in the older model and the RS.
The conventional old school with integrated L-shaped LED daytime running lights, butterfly effect grille with chrome surround followed by a chrome strip running across the front fog lights gives its distinct look. The new Octavia has surely grown in its sophistication levels too.
On the inside, it gets a new layered dashboard which brings in a fresh approach to the cabin. Like the Kushaq, it too gets a two-spoke steering wheel which makes it a looker. Furthermore, it gets dual-screens and the India specced version is expected to get dual-tone beige and black colour scheme which gives it a premium look.

Feature-wise, the new Octavia will get a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will host modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also get connected car technology, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, 10.25-inch virtual cockpit and others.
As of now, only the launch month is announced by Zac Hollis on Twitter but a specific date is not yet out. The expected price range is to start from Rs 17 lakh and the top model fetching till Rs 23 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It'll sure be a looker for people looking to travel in style in a sedan.
