Triumph entered the 400cc motorcycle segment with the launch of the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. A few months back the brand added a new variant in the Speed 400 lineup called the Triumph Speed T4. The Speed T4 is the toned-down version of the Speed 400 and now it seems like the brand is planning to opt for the same strategy for the Scrambler 400X. Recently, a test mule of a Triumph motorcycle has been spotted on test which is expected to be the new Triumph Scrambler T4. Read details of the recently spotted test mule below. Triumph Scrambler T4
The recently spotted test mule boasted different design highlights which hints at a more affordable offering. It gets a simple single-seat setup in place of a split seat available in the 400X, the USD forks are retained here but they are painted in black colour, the rear gets a simple taillamp instead of a smart LED setup on the 400X, the fuel tank misses on the rubber padding, the pillion grab rail is now a simple black coloured unit, and there is no knuckle guard available in this model. However, it continues to get a similar exhaust setup and instrument cluster as the 400X.
We can anticipate the upcoming Scrambler T4 to get the same stage of tuning as the Speed T4. The Speed T4 is powered by a 398cc engine producing 30.6 bhp of power and 36 Nm of peak torque. The Scrambler T4 is expected to get the same engine with the same power and torque figures. This engine will be mated with a 6-speed gearbox.
Additionally, the brand may give new colour options to the Scrambler T4 to give it a distinctive identity. As far as the pricing is concerned, the Scrambler T4 is expected to be launched with a lower price tag as compared to the Scrambler 400X. The Scrambler 400X is priced at Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom), we can expect the upcoming variant to be priced at Rs 2.30-2.40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Verdict
With its strategic partnership with Bajaj Auto, Triumph is trying to get a good hold in the sub 400cc segment in India. The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X received a decent response in the Indian market and the launch of more affordable versions will make them more appealing.
