Aprilia SR 175 has been silently launched in the Indian market, which has replaced the SR 160. We saw the glimpse of this scooter on July 1, and predicted its price to be around Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.50 lakh ex-showroom, but water has been shed to our expectations - and for good only - as this scooter costs Rs 1.26 lakh ex-showroom. So, now at this price tag, this Italian company is offering a 174.7 cc engine. New Engine

The biggest factor of this scooter is its engine - a new-age 174.7 cc single-cylinder making 12.9 hp at 7,200 RPM and 14.14 Nm torque at 6,000 RPM. This power, at a Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom) price with the Aprilia chassis, is a bumper saving for enthusiasts. With this launch, the SR 160 will be discontinued, but unsold models will still be available at dealerships with even more attractive discounts.
Features

From top to bottom this scooter is exactly like the SR 160 - with same set of mechanical components as well as same tyre profile with offering single channel ABS at front tyres. However, the biggest change is the advent of a 5-inch TFT display which we have seen in RS 457 and Tuono 457. This screen allows wireless connectivity, and through it, you can unlock features like call accept/reject, check notifications, and more.
Design

From a design point of view, it is 100% similar to the SR 160 and even wears the same 14-inch wheels. The front profile consists of LED headlamps, halogen turn indicators, and a front disc brake with ABS. The rear section features a large grab handle for pillions, which also adds to the sporty aesthetics. Moreover, it gets an X-shaped LED tail-light below, along with a carbon-finish exhaust. Talking about colour options - they seem more inspired by the RS 457 than the SR 160, and they are - Matt Prismatic Dark and Glossy Tech White.

Verdict
Those who are familiar with the beast that is SR 160 can imagine how crazy the SR 175 experience would be. To make it even more tempting, the SR 175 is being offered at the same price tag as its predecessor, and for this much price, it's a fantastic offer. Moreover, when we'll get to ride it, then we will tell about its experience.
