Benelli India is now very close to adding more BS6 bikes to its Indian portfolio and promises to relaunch all the bikes which we had on offer before the norms came in. As per our communication with Benelli India, they will soon launch the TRK 502 BS6 and Leoncino 500 BS6 in the coming few months, followed by other models next year. Here is a quick look at their plans.

Benelli has confirmed that its 500cc range of bikes are at the final stage of homologation and those will be launched before this calendar year. Right now, the bikemaker only offers the Imperiale 400 BS6 which was launched recently at Rs 1.99 lakh ex-showroom. BS6 iterations of bikes like Leoncino 250 and popular TNT 600i are now pushed to early next year.
Along with the existing models, Benelli may also launch the bigger Leoncino 800 and TRK 800 models which were recently unveiled for the global markets. We can expect these big capacity BS6 motorcycles to hit our shores in 2021 and all models will be assembled in India. Benelli has no intention of exporting the Benelli models as of now as they are pitching to strengthen its India market share and presence. All the bikes are assembled at their plant in India, with some models getting an increasing percentage of local parts.

After all the delays happened thanks to the nationwide lockdown and COVID outbreak, Benelli had to procrastinate the launches but as per the company, the process is back on track again we will see new and updated products this year itself. The only bike Benelli sells right now is the Imperiale which is powered by a 400cc SOHC single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that churns out 21 PS and 29 Nm of torque @ 3500rpm. Benelli started taking bookings of the Imperiale 400 for Rs 6,000 and deliveries will begin from August.
