Gravton Quanta Conquers K2K, Enters Asia Book Of World Records

Gravton Quanta has become the first electric scooter to conquer the K2K ride in a record-breaking time. Read our story about this mega-adventure completed by an Indian company.

Telangana based small scale, electric scooter manufacturer, Gravton Motors has shared the limelight internationally by successfully completing a world record of K2K ride in a record time.

Starting on the 13th of September 2021, the K2K ride began in Kanyakumari, and ended on the 20th of September 2021, in Khardung La, covering a distance of 4011.9 km in 164 hours and 30 minutes (6.5 days). This breathtaking record was set up by cumulative team efforts from Gravton motors.

Talking about the product Quanta, it has been powered by a BLDC motor that produces 3 kW (4 bhp) in continuous state and 3.6 kW (4.8 bhp) at peak. This helps the Quanta to achieve a top speed of 100 kmph and an ideal riding range of 100 kms.

To prove the potential of their product, Gravton motors planned a K2K ride. This ride was very important to prove the capabilities of Gravton Quanta's engineering. With all the efforts from the team, Quanta reached the final destination in record time.

To make this ride successful a few things were taken care like batteries were not charged on the way but they were replaced to save the charging efforts and time. No stopping on the way saved a lot of time for record-making. The only halt that team took was at Manali so that they could acclimatize themselves to rough and high-altitude Himalayan terrains.

Although, Gravton has not specified how and when the batteries were replaced in transit. Also, no information has been shared about the rider swaps en route.
