Hero MotoCorp's most affordable motorcycle on sale is the HF Deluxe. This is a cheaper alternative to the Splendor+ and continues to be very popular in smaller towns and rural areas. The model has been updated to meet the latest emission norms which means it gets more features and a bumped up sticker price. The 2020 Hero HF Deluxe BS6 price now starts at Rs 55,925 ex-showroom Delhi. Let's have a deeper look into this commuter motorcycle.

The Hero HF Deluxe BS6 is offered in three versions. All three get drum brakes at both ends and the differentiating factor is the availability of Hero's i3S (start-stop-system) technology and the option to pick the all-black model. Prices start at Rs 55,925 (ex-showroom Delhi), going all the way to Rs 57,250 (again, ex-showroom Delhi). The same can be seen below in the screenshot taken from Hero's official website. This makes the Hero HF Deluxe BS6 about Rs 3675 cheaper than the Splendor+ BS6 offering.

Power comes from a 97.2cc four-stroke engine that now gets the benefit of fuel injection. This was necessary to make sure the engine is BS6 compliant. It produces a maximum power of 7.9 bhp or 8.0 PS which is generated at 8000rpm. Maximum torque is rated at 8.05 Nm which comes in at 6000rpm. This motor is paired to a 4-speed gearbox. Hero says the PFi or the programmable fuel injection gets multiple sensors that take into account various factors like temperature, humidity, throttle inputs etc to get the best out of the engine. Fuel economy too has gone up now and it will be easy to get an easy 65-70 kmpl if the higher gears of 3rd and 4th are used.

The Hero HF Deluxe BS6 also gets self start as standard and alloy wheels as standard. The all black version, seen above, does look smart for a commuter motorcycle. The bike also gets an adjustable rear suspension and a longer seat for added comfort. Hero claims the bike also gets a best in class 130mm dia rear drum brake. All in all, given the reliable engine, ample features and a low sticker price, the Hero HF Deluxe BS6 remains a highly recommended motorcycle in the commuter segment.
