Honda India recently launched the new City Hybrid in the Indian market and is now expected to expand its hybrid portfolio in the country. If rumours are to be believed, the brand is now working on developing a new hybrid SUV for the Indian market that might go on sale next year. The Japanese carmaker is also said to be working on a new mid-size SUV to take on the rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and more. Here are all the details that you should know about this new Honda Hybrid SUV.
The new Honda Hybrid SUV is expected to share its powertrain with the Honda City Hybrid. This powertrain in the city uses a 1.5-L petrol engine that churns out a combined output of 126 PS and 253 Nm. The engine boasts a fuel economy of over 26kmpl while it also offers impressive refinement levels. We expect similar figures to be offered with the upcoming Honda Hybrid SUV. The brand may also offer the SUV with a standard petrol engine that may come mated to a manual as well as a CVT automatic gearbox.

A number of online reports also suggest that the new upcoming SUV will share its design with the N7X concept that was officially revealed in Indonesia in 2021. Features like six airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist, Agile Handling Assist, auto-dimming inside mirror, Hill Start Assist (HAS), multi-angle rear-view camera, lane watch camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and other modern safety technologies are also expected to be offered with this new SUV.
The brand's new upcoming mid-size SUV too is in the works and will be offered at a starting price range of around Rs 10-11 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new SUV will take on the rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and more. Just like most of its rivals, this new SUV will also be with a powerful and fuel-efficient diesel powertrain.
